New thread as the other one is nearly full Xmas Shock!

Our next baby should be pmgkt's, but I won't if any little cheeky monkey will sneak in before Thursday?

OP posts:

Apple - I had a show on Thursday morning and then my waters went on Thursday night. Having been induced last time I had no idea what to expect but it did seem to be the start of things. Exciting!

AppleCrumples · 29/12/2012 21:16

marasme thank you! Am just realising this is actually going to happen Shock tbh I would like an early eviction (am 37 weeks on tues) after 3 deliverys at 40+ but as I said I've been expecting to have plenty of time left to sort car seat!

Have had a quick trawl around mn and it seems to vary between people going into labour pretty quickly and people who keep losing a little and then go overdue! You would think that on baby no4 I would have a clue Hmm

doing cross stitch and watching big bang theory to stop myself obsesssing!

Hope everyone else ok. Can't believe any of you are going anywhere near work!

Lora1982 · 29/12/2012 21:37

I blame christmas and new yrs for the amount of action going on!! How exciting (WHENS IT MY TURN?!?) Going in the bath to mope with jealousy :-D

Lostbobbles · 29/12/2012 21:55

Congrats Bunty, fantastic job and welcome Cameron.

preggofabulous · 29/12/2012 22:07

ugh, just got back from hospital, as had reduced movement so they told me to go in. The heart monitor seemed to suggest everything was ok (thank god), and apparently I'm having Braxton Hicks but I don't feel a thing so that was a surprise!

The odd thing is I had 4 midwives poking me because none of them (and none of my normal midwives either) can tell what position baby is in. They have now moved my scan to NYE to determine if he's breech, transverse, or head down (or triangular which is what he feels like, lol), and that if anything even vaguely looks like labour then I have to go in straight away. Ho Hum.

Congratulations to the latest new arrivals. Its all so exciting! x

AppleCrumples · 29/12/2012 22:07

marasme meant to say good luck for Monday am sure all will be fine and you'll be enjoying cuddles!

Have decided I'm going to have to take dcs with me to get car seat
arrggh and breast pump so that it is at least done. Was waiting for dh days off but all feeling worryingly close all of a sudden Confused

lora you are so nearly there and you will probably have a baby long before I do!

happyhow · 29/12/2012 22:22

The last couple of days I've been getting stabbing pains in my cervix/vagina mostly in the evening. Is this baby burrowing in or things starting to change down below?!

newbie6 · 29/12/2012 22:31

Congrats bunty, lovely news! Xxx

eagleray · 29/12/2012 23:55

Hello - finally rejoining this thread after a long absence! Am rather Blush to see I am the most senior person here at 41 but baby is facing the right way, the consultants have satisfied themselves that my medical condition has caused no complications whatsoever during the pregnancy and I have been given the go-ahead to have a homebirth and the pool is in the post!

My chances of HB probably aren't terribly high as have been advised to have an induction soon after due date (it is pencilled in for 3 days after) but let's just wait and see nearer the time! For now, I will hope for the best and prepare for all other outcomes.

Huge congratulations to those who have had their babies already - fantastic news!

Happyhow - been getting similar pains, mostly if I've been walking around a fair bit. I assumed it was down to pressure/baby getting lower but then I am a bit clueless...

Bunny222 · 30/12/2012 00:11

bunty massive congrats! Wonderful!
apple have the same EDD as you and also lost a bit of plug this evening, altho v small amount and totally clear. Like u , now wondering if this is the start...
happy i've also had stabbing pains in those areas, esp round pelvis that I feel whether lying down or standing.

So hard not knowing if things are about to begin. Feeling a little low as had a family get together this evening, our first since my dads funeral, v strange realising its our first xmss without him. Was ok when with everyone, now feeling a bit down, prob not helped by tiredness and bump worries...

Hormonalhell · 30/12/2012 00:30

I've had them too happyhow but I've also had regular BH's for two weeks and nothing happened as yet Hmm

sanam2010 · 30/12/2012 00:52

And another December baby on the January thread :-). Our daughter Elly was born on 29th at 11am, everything was surprisingly easy as the waters didn't break till i was 10cm and that seemed to soften everything, once they broke it all went really quickly and she was born within an hour, all healthy.

I had also had the mucus plug coming off the days before but all clear without the blood, the "show" only appeared once they examined me in hospital. So it could definitely tell the beginning.

Am staying in hospital overnight as they didn't have the staff to do all the checks but will go home happily tomorrow to introduce the baby to DD1.

Good luck everyone and all the best for the New Year!

PixelCarrier · 30/12/2012 05:51

Congratulations bunty and sanam.

Hope your ok apples - sounded like it might be a show. Let us know how you get on.

Can't believe you are still going in to work marasme!

After getting several nights of really good sleep, I'm back to waking up in the early hours - but just caught up with the Miranda episode from Boxing Day, so am happy! Hope everyone else is sleeping well...

Tugstonia · 30/12/2012 07:44

Congratulations bunty and sanam! So exciting :) Hope you and your babies are doing well.

Best of luck for tomorrow marasme and Complicated.

Happy I've been getting those pains too. Assumed it was baby burrowing down? Also had what I thought was a contraction last night but think it was just muscle strain from trying to haul my enormous carcass off the sofa...

Willothewhip · 30/12/2012 08:20

Hi to you all and congratulations to all those of you with new babies. I wondered if it would be possible for me to belatedly join the party? My baby is due on 20th Jan and we are another one in team pink (seems to be a January trend). She will be our first DC so I'm feeling both excited and daunted...

bealos · 30/12/2012 09:30

Congratulations bunty and sanam! Glad everything went well....

I'm going for less than 72 hours labour please, anything less will be a relief!

AppleCrumples · 30/12/2012 10:23

sanam congratulations! Wow there are a lot of girls!

Had a bit more of poss show this morning. Feeling quite anxious and started to get a bit more baby feelings low down which hasn't happened so far with this pg. Looking at bump it doesn't seem so high anymore but think I'm just looking for signs now!

Strangely though I slept a bit better last night. Just wish I knew what was going on, might give labour ward a call later. Sounds daft but I don't think this happened with any of the others so I feel like a first timer!

Hope everyone else ok

woody2313 · 30/12/2012 10:31

Congratulations Sanam and good luck to Marasme and Complicated
Wow, these babies are coming at quite a rate now. Am feeling quite Envy now - still got 3+ weeks to go...
Welcome Willo, have added you to the list Smile

woody2313 · 30/12/2012 10:33

Baby Woody has been SO active these last couple of days... can't work out if it's a sign that he or she is itching to come out, that I just notice it more cos I'm not at work or if he or she is just reacting to all the sugar in the mountain of chocolate we seem to have accumulated Blush

allchik · 30/12/2012 10:39

Oh and welcome willo x x x

happyhow · 30/12/2012 11:07

That's what mine are like Allchick! Usually when I'm sitting on the sofa. I've been having BH but they seem to be getting less despite upping my raspberry leaf tea intake...

Birdiesinthesnow · 30/12/2012 11:24

Congrats to everyone who has given birth since I last looked!! Sorry I haven't chance to catch up on everything I've missed but I hope you're all ok.

My beautiful little girl was born on 27th December. Had to have emergency c-section so in hospital a couple of days with no Internet access, hence first time I could tell you all!

She's gorgeous and we're thrilled. Having name dilemmas though but hoping to get on and decide soon!

Hope you're all ok.

Ps remember the growth scans I had saying head small? It's 75th centile! Growth scans a load of rubbish!

MarasmeAbsolu · 30/12/2012 12:10

Congrats Sanam and Birdies!!!
I am looking forward to plenty of links to birth stories :) :)

I have been having the sudden kicks down below too - painful. And also plenty of very tight tight tightenings. Not painful in a crampy way, just putting a lot of pressure down below. But baby is going absolutely mad at night. Haven't slept very well for a few nights, I cannot go to sleep before 2 or 3 am (and wake up at 11am [shock!!]Grin.

Otherwise Pixel, yes, still at work. I have one of these jobs which never really stops and is a bit all consuming in a great but also depressing way. I do enjoy it a lot, but on my terms, which is not quite the case at the mo!!

We are going to friends tonight to stay overnight, since they'll have DD tomorrow (I am really scared she will have a total breakdown when she realise that we have "left her" - that's definetly one of the big worry of not having family around). So that was my last night in my bed, with just "us" in the room. Scary.

Pascha - any movement on your EDD yet?
Apple will you get all your missing bits and bobs today?
Complicated good luck :)
I will now attempt the bag!

Good luck to all in the waiting room and hoping that the happy fews who have already boarded the plane are enjoying their cuddles!!
