How are you shellshock 7 ?

BravelilBear I know all about feeling sick without actually being sick. Been wandering around in a daze all day and in and out of bed, seems being asleep is the only time it buggers off. Really not good as I really need to go to work everyday!

nicnic79 · 10/12/2012 14:53

good afternoon ladies x been feeling a bit down last few days spoke to my mental health nurse felt a little better after. I know feeling up and down is normal with pregnancy and not having mood stabilizers is frustrating been very emotional doesn't help dp is being an idiot . pg was planned but think he's in shell shock caught on first cycle it was very quick . what did he think was going to happen lol . we had a long chat so I hope now he might be a bit more understanding I just have to keep telling myself only another 5 weeks till second trimester !!! beware of recommended flu jab to I never had it before but made me quite ill on top of early pg ailments it wiped me out . hate to think what real flu would be like !! had a mad one today been cleaning and moved the living room round . Christmas tree doing my head in lol makes the room look messy!!

Sugarkane · 10/12/2012 14:59

shellshock I had blood on wiping last night too, nothing this morning, keeping fingers crossed for us.So worried though. Booking in on wednesday will mention it then if nothing more.

BraveLilBear · 10/12/2012 16:43

Thanks Sunflower so glad it's not just me. Feel like a right fraud. The thing I'm hating the most is feeling like I'm going to throw up so I force some food down me and feel better. Then, half an hour or so later, I get indigestion/acid reflux and feel almost as bad as before!

Also really struggling to drink enough as I don't fancy tea and coffee at all, have gone off water and the squash we have in the house makes me feel ill as DSS threw up the other week and it smells the same as that.

So drinking lots of cartons of ribena and managing occasional cups of hot water.

Any news Shellshock? Fx for you. And sugarkane

Sorry you've been feeling up and down nicnic but glad that the MH nurse helped. It's a really tricky time being pregnant with hormones everywhere and all the stress of change. Fx you settle in soon.

LittleMiss take comfort in the tiredness and heartburn, they're good signs. I totally appreciate how stressful it must be for you but the odds of having a MMC in any pregnancy are something like 3% and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the pg after a mc has even lower odds.

Try and cling to the positives and remember - today you are pregnant!

wavesandsmiles · 10/12/2012 16:53

Hello, I'm another one on cups of hot water bravelilbear. And nicnic glad that you have had some help. I am awaiting appointments, but realised that one of my main "low mood" triggers has been DSSs behaviour, so I am taking myself off to bed with a book when things start to get a bit much. In a way it has made me feel a lot better, and also means that DH is having to do all the behaviour management which is as it should be really anyway. I'm a bit sad, as I was hoping that with the new house we would all be getting on a bit better, but I'd rather avoid everything than be feeling as sad as I have been. DH understands, and has tried talking to the boys, but there is only so much that can be achieved.

I am totally shattered today. Spent much of yesterday in bed, which was amazing, but not sure how I have stayed awake at my desk all day! So, so glad that I only have until the end of the week to go.

shellshock7 · 10/12/2012 17:45

Hey sugarkane hope you're ok and have had an uneventful day.

Still more discharge for me, dark brown now, nor sure what that means, and cramps....it's not looking good. I'm at GP tomorrow just to let them know I'm Pregnant so will see what they suggest if things haven't progressed Sad

Christelle2207 · 10/12/2012 19:12

sorry to hear that. hope gp can help maybe with a scan. not necessarily bad news though please keep strong x

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 10/12/2012 20:13

Hi, tentatively adding myself to this thread, think my current EDD is 17th August so I'm 4+2, had a mc directly before this and had to bow out of the june 2013 thread so I'm hoping all will be well with this little one. Third baby, my others are 5 and 2. Hi! Smile

Silver15 · 10/12/2012 20:15

Hello ladies,

Shellshock and sugarkane, figures crossed for you.

Nicnic sorry to hear that things are hard. Hope all will be well soon.

Just feeling nauseous. Im struggling to keep awake during the day. The boobs are also killing me.

OP posts:
GaryBuseysTeeth · 10/12/2012 20:32

James glad you've decided to pop over!
If you read through this thread, it would seem the majority of us are pg after a recent mc so you're in safe & understanding hands!

shell, I'm sorry it's still going on, hope GP can be of some help tomorrow.
If it's still brown & you're not filling a pad, then things could still all be ok.
Have you got any pregnancy tests lying around the house you feel up for doing tomorrow morning?

nic, glad you're feeling a bit better.
'Thankfully' I was given the flu jab when I was pg in Oct so I don't have to go through it again!

I've bloated up again, last pg I didn't show until about 28wks...so I assume I'll be showing lots earlier this time around.
Those on pg 3+....how early did you show 2nd, 3rd etc time around?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 10/12/2012 20:40

Thanks Gary, sorry to hear there's so many of us here after a mc, fingers crossed we all strike it lucky this time! I feel way more tired this time, having a bit of heartburn, smells knocking me sick etc

zen1980 · 10/12/2012 21:10

hi guys

yes Gary tis I, I wasn't sure for a few days but there you have it I'm PREGNANT Smile still doesn't feel real apart from major sickness/dizziness and painful boobs!!

Abel I know you feel I've had both experiences but with my dc I bleed brown/red up to 24/26 weeks.IT was a nightmare with constant checking but it was just one of those things.Although it will never stop you worrying even hearing good stories.

I have made my booking in appointment today, don't have to go the docs so straight to midwife next Monday!

chocolatesolveseverything · 10/12/2012 21:17

Hugs to shell and sugar. Whilst loads of women go on to have healthy pregnancies and babies after small amounts of blood loss, it must still be horrible when it happens.

Like silver I'm getting a lot of nausea and have felt rubbish most of today. There's occasional heartburn too, though sensible-ish eating seems to help. But I find I'm more hungry than usual mid-afternoon at the moment. Twice now I've had to stop off to buy a bag of salted crisps on the way home to stop my stomach from eating itself...

Can't complain overall when some of you are actually being sick and fainting. Sounds yuk!

No word yet on when my scan/booking in will take place. Will give the GP surgery a call if nothing arrives in the post tomorrow I think as my referral was a fortnight ago. It'll be rubbish luck if it gets scheduled when we're supposed to be visiting my family down in England this Christmas.

bzzbee · 10/12/2012 21:54

Hi all

I posted on the 40 thread already. Got a BFP exactly one week ago after nearly 3 years of TTC #2. We had sort of given up, all the investigations for infertility had come back clear, but it's taken aaaages. I am much much more nervous this time round because we've waited so long. Thrilled, excited, worried and nervous just about sums it up!
So far so good though, am 5+2 today.
Does anyone know when pregnant women are supposed to get the flu jab? I haven't had a clear response from our surgery, they seemed unsure.
I am also trying to decide whether to tell family at Christmas time, what are you all doing that are due early/mid Aug ?
Xx

shellshock7 · 10/12/2012 22:06

Hi gary yes I told DH straight away so at least it's not just in my head. Ive not soaked a pad at all, only on wiping, but quite a lot.....but it has stopped for the last two hours and the cramps have eased so I guess there is still hope. I hadnt thought abt testing tomorrow, will do thanks.

Thanks and sorry to everyone else, don't wanna bring a downer on the thread Smile

Stopsittingonyoursister · 10/12/2012 23:40

shell I hope everything is OK for you tomorrow, fx. Also fx for you sugar.

Hello to all the newbies, there are too many to list individually!! The thread has really started to move quickly now!

bzzbee we are having a family party on the 23rd before my DSis and her family go to her inlaws for Xmas. Thinking of telling everyone then, but not looking forward to it really. DMum and DDad have made it very clear in the past that Two Children Is Enough so the fact that we are having a third will not be met with joy, I don't think. Also, DSis has just decided to put off trying for her second due to health problems with her first, so it all seems a bit callous to just rub her face into it somehow. Any advice on how to handle that one, anyone??

gary DS1 I showed at 17 weeks; DD1 I showed at 11 weeks. I had to invest in a number of scarves to hide the bump until I was ready to tell everyone!

Had my booking in appointment this afternoon, all very straightforward. Now just waiting for my scan date to come through for some time end of Jan. We will be finding out the baby's gender this time. We didn't for DS1 but we did for DD1 and it helped DS to visualise that he was going to have a sister etc. Also meant to could crazy with the pink!!

I am with everyone getting the heartburn, and I find I get nauseous when I get too hungry = good excuse to nibble all day...

beckie90 · 11/12/2012 08:52

SUGARKANE&SHELLSHOK, I've had exact same thing, Sunday night I had red spotting and bad cramps in belly and back that continued all Yesturday too, so I spent all day yest in epu with my youngest child running riot, hormone level took which was 2100 yest, I'm booked in for a scan at 10am in morning , to see whats happening. Keep an eye on it, brown us usually old blood, but get it checked out just incase.

I showed more or less as soon as I found out with ds1 I had hourendous bloating, he was 2wk over and 6ib11. With ds2 I didn't show til 35wk he was born on time weighing 9ibs, and I didnt barely put on no weight cause of sickness so I went into labour weighing around 9st :/

Welcome to all the new members and congrats :)
X

Sugarkane · 11/12/2012 09:20

I was showing with DD1 by about 23 weeks born 7 lb11, DS1 I was showing by 12 weeks 9lb3, DS2 showing as soon as I tested born 10lb 10. I was a lot thinner wit DS2 and im not showing yet as the fat is hiding it.

Thank you for your well wishes, so far so good. Good luck today Shell and Beckie

wavesandsmiles · 11/12/2012 09:28

FX for today shell and beckie and hope all is well sugar

beckie90 · 11/12/2012 09:33

Thankyou sugarkane hope your ok, how is things now? My scans not till in morning they tried to get in today but no space, I hate waiting. I think I'm just stressed too much cause in process of moving house aswell. Thankyou too WAVES

Good luck SHELL xx

chocolatesolveseverything · 11/12/2012 10:12

Good luck Shell and Beckie,

I've just come off the phone to the midwifery booking service. It turns out that although my GP supposedly referred me to them a fortnight ago they still haven't received anything. Thankfully they were able to book me in from scratch for 9th January. I'll be almost 11 weeks by that point and had hoped for an earlier appointment, but I suppose it's not the end of the world.

They booked me in for a scan too and sounded a bit exasperated when I explained the GP had said I was due one between 8-10 weeks. Apparently they get that from GPs regularly. But no, my scan is on 23rd Jan when I'll be just under 13 weeks.

From now onwards I'll attempt to deal with midwives only and skip the GPs!

BraveLilBear · 11/12/2012 10:33

Morning all, good luck today to Shell and Beckie and anyone else having worries, especially Sugarkane.

Hello to James! Welcome to the bravery club Xmas Grin like Gary says, there are many of us here in a similar boat so come and join in.

It amazes me how different midwifery services are across the country. I have my booking in appt on Xmas Eve and counting down to that.

If all seems well, I'm planning to tell mum, dad and sisters at Xmas. I'll be 9+2 Xmas Day. This is slightly terrifying as will have no reassurance that all is well, but hope that they'll be supportive and adhere to the strictly no telling until scan rule...

shellshock7 · 11/12/2012 11:30

It all over for me I'm afraid, red now when I wipe and was a bit clotty this morning. Got hospital appt on Monday to check its all gone, fingers crossed. At least at this stage it should be relatively painless compared to last time and we won't feel like lots of time has been wasted.

Fingers crossed sugar and beckie and best of luck to everyone else Smile

Can someone take me off the list please.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 11/12/2012 11:37

Oh shell, I'm really sorry for your loss.
Good luck for when you start ttc again, I guess you're going to try again asap?
Hope you're on the Sept/Oct bus & we get a positive update from you soon, the ttc after mc threads on here are fantastic if you're up for them, they're all really helpful. xx

Good luck Beckie, and sugarkane.

shellshock7 · 11/12/2012 11:38

Yeah, I used them when pregnant with DS gary, this is my second miscarriage now unfortunately Sad

Hope all goes well for you Smile
