Good luck dating we all thinking of you!

Cookiesandcoffee · 20/11/2012 09:37

Best of luck dating scary but for the best as others said, 36w is a good age. Exciting you'll be meeting your LO v soon.

prunella your bump is crazy! You're so tiny still! How are you not falling over?!

walnut/spotty I know what you mean - should I keep things going and not be lazy, or rest up?! Also, I read somewhere that having a bath slows things down?! Been having one every night but now worried! I think I only get pains when I overdo it!

This lurgy has taken root Sad headache, glands, throat, nose and I blooming ache. Have loads to do with dd today as well :(

itsMYNutella · 20/11/2012 09:54

dated hope everything goes as smoothly as possible for you and LO!! Sending lots of good luck wishes your way!!

prunella that is one hell of a bump! jealous of neat bumpage I agree with cookies, how do you not fall over? Wink My bump is much more flabby soft and my belly button still hasn't popped Hmm

Walnut8 · 20/11/2012 09:57

cookies that's shite Sad. I hope you start to feel better. Is there anything you can put off with your dd? I skipped DD's weekly gym class today as I felt shocking this morning.

wow prunella! great bump!

emilyeggs · 20/11/2012 10:17

OMG! prunella you need an anvil strapped to your back to keep upright Grin

olliebob · 20/11/2012 10:34

good luck dating as everyone else have sed at least you know they are doing it for yours and bubs sake.
So tired today only had a couple of hours sleep last night as ds decided to sleep in my bed so dh was downstairs til bout 4ish and then comes up & i cudnt get comfy so been up since.
Had a parent teacher thing for dd this morning and was told she is doing brilliantly so proud of her, find out about ds later as his appt isnt til 3, which means 4 trips to school, just what i need lol.
Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

brooke89 · 20/11/2012 10:43

Nice bump prunella yes I did manage to make it to the top of the stairs and back in the bath where I stayed for most of the night! Pain still there but after doing a bit of google research I think it might be round ligament pain!

utopian99 · 20/11/2012 10:45

Just been to see mw, all on track and now 4/5 engaged. yikes, it's all going to happen!

utopian99 · 20/11/2012 10:47

P.s amazing bump pru, and hope the pain subsides soon Brooke..

Secondsop · 20/11/2012 10:54

prunella good bump! Looks almost like you've used a fish-eye lens! Mine is all at the front but with a good deal of flab around it.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/11/2012 11:13

Wow Pru! Does your skin hurt? I feel like mine is going to burst and I'm not on par with you yet!

Cookies my MW told me I need to rest when I told her about the frequency of my braxton hicks, unfortunately the housework didn't get the memo and if I don't do it it doesn't get done. Dd has been thoroughly neglected and we just have to make up for it with her favourite food and play-doh Blush It won't be forever and the weather is rubbish enough for me not to feel bad about staying indoors! I also make sure we go out on the one day a week that DP is home. I'm having a bath every night, it makes me feel better and I can't see it slowing things down that much.

I have a horrible feeling my placenta is on the way out as my sugar levels are starting to drop, which is what happened with dd...

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 20/11/2012 11:59

utopian if it says 4/5 in your notes it may well mean you are only 1/5 engaged. I don't know of it differs by area but my notes document how much of babies head can be felt out of the pelvis. I got very excited seeing 5/5 thinking I was engaged, but nope reading the info it says 5/5 is free and 0/5 is engaged

Obviously if the midwife said you are 4/5s engaged just ignore me! Grin

Walnut8 · 20/11/2012 12:05

spotty I know what you mean about housework. And it's so frustrating to be surrounded by mess! My dd's also being neglected poor thing. And it's beautiful warm weather here too. Supposed to be having a play date at the park tomorrow so will see if I can scrape myself together for DD's sake Hmm. Honestly though if I exert myself too much at the moment, I more often than not end up exhausted and in tears.

Can you go and get a scan for the placenta?

Sounds like dated not having a great time Sad (in childbirth thread).

PurplePidjin · 20/11/2012 12:23

Good luck Dataing! Iirc your Big Hospital is where I am right now so PM if you can - PAH although I'm off to NFBC this afternoon

Rafa is very snuggly but very dopey (pethidine) and we're having some difficulty with feeding. He's getting there slowly, but I've had to top up with formula Sad he's currently naked on my chest while I eat my lunch!

SpottyTeacakes · 20/11/2012 12:28

Oh poor dating they made me have a catheter too, not very nice but it shouldn't be hurting.... I expect she would have had her baby by now as she sounds quite poorly. Hoping she is OK.

Well I've got a scan next week and although it shows the blood show I'm not sure it gives enough info about whether or not it's failing (only because with dd I had a scan the day before she was born and nothing was picked up)

SpottyTeacakes · 20/11/2012 12:30

Ah Pidj don't be sad about a little bit of formula, they get their virgin gut back after a week iirc. It's still very early and it sounds like you're doing all the right things (eating a cuddling Wink)

pmgkt · 20/11/2012 13:07

Pru I had to look at that as everyone was saying how big it was, and its huge. But even at 13 weeks you had a good size bump for that term, you clearly carry all out front and no where else. Hope you are keeping ok

utopian99 · 20/11/2012 13:28

stacey, yes she said 5/5 is nothing and typically 2/5 is when you're already in first stage labour, so nothing super-imminent yet i hope, but heading that way.

Would be so nice to be able to rely on due date being accurate, but can't believe i won't go overdue..

SpottyTeacakes · 20/11/2012 13:30

I know someone else who just had their baby two months early 3lb10 Shock he's doing well though :)

WillYouDoTheFandango · 20/11/2012 13:32

Oh poor Dated hope she's okay.

Pidj I'm sure you're doing great, don't beat yourself up about a tiny bit of formula, as long as Raphael is doing well that's all that matters.

Pru that is an amazing bump! Is it sore? Mine's nowhere near that big and I'm already struggling.

Spotty can you ring your diabetic nurse and explain the current sugars situation and what happened last time and see if she can advise what you should do? Better to be safe than sorry and if it was one of us that's what you'd recommend

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 20/11/2012 13:38

I've got a BP check tomorrow with specialist mw so will monitor today and see how I go, I want to see what breakfast does tomorrow before I do anything I think. Luckily my nurse is always available to answer the phone so I'm not worried about not being able to speak to her or anything.

PrunellaDeVille · 20/11/2012 13:39

i can't imagine my skin can stretch any more, my belly button has been hurting and looking bruised for about 2 months whilst the bump feels generally bruised too.
DH admitted last night he can't imagine how i'm ever going to return to any semblance of normality, he suggested i'm going to have to tuck my excess skin into my pockets Sad.

MW noted i'm 4/5 engaged so i'm hoping once it's further engaged the bump'll start to receed slightly fx. measurements are spot on for dates though and have been all through.

AlisonDB · 20/11/2012 13:45

Spotty, hope you are ok, and yes I agree if you are worried phone your diabetic nurse, hope this doesn't sound like too stupid a question.

But what makes you think that your placenta is beginning to fail?
are there obvious/tell tale signs to look out for?

AlisonDB · 20/11/2012 13:49

Pru, that's one hec of a bump!!!
Very envious of how slim your arms still are!!

Got my bump photos back yesterday some really sweet ones, if I have time I'll try to add one to my profile page later :-)

SpottyTeacakes · 20/11/2012 13:54

Don't worry Pru it will go back :) Have you got any stretch marks?

Alison It's because my insulin resistance should go up towards the end of pregnancy but it seems to be reducing. I don't really know the medical reasons but I know it's a sign of placental deterioration.
