Stunt, I've been exactly the same today with just a few twinges, thinking 'Oh gawd, how am I going to cope ...'. I read Birth Skills last time (YW did that I think and was really successful with it it sounds like) but it didn't work so well for me. I wonder if anything would have done though under the circs, TBH. I just panicked when the contractions kicked in properly with no gap between them. So I suppose I'm going to try and counteract that panic/adrenaline this time around - I'll be putting a punt on the relaxation/natal hypnotherapy path! Which is basically slow, deep breathing when it comes down to it, talking to other women who have benefited from it. And then I'm having all the drugs I can get if it doesn't work.

Tits you're doing brilliantly, sounds like the induction's working well! You sound happy, if that makes sense! Must be such a relief for things to be happening, finally. Crossing fingers for a speedy and straightforward delivery! x

I have taken myself off to bed. I was having really nasty stomach cramps which got much worse when I tried to move. Stupidly I googled it and it came up with wind or a placental abruption.

Obviously I convinced myself I was having the latter. Baby wasn't moving much which made me all the more convinced.

Thankfully the cat worked her magic, rubbed her head on the bump and was responded to. Genuinely, when the cat runs against the bump the baby pushes out.

Then I went to the loo and had some wind.

So, crises averted in the crisp household.

Am sitting in bed listening to some neighbours having a bonfire party. This seems to have consisted of letting off hundreds of pounds worth of fireworks in a garden the size of a parking space then drinking massive amounts of booze. They are now playing dance music and shouting. Same as they do when the sun shines, when it's a bank holiday and pretty much every occasion you can think of. Awesome

Come on out baby Tits, your time is up!! Grin

I'm very Confused about what's going on with my body too. I figured I would know 2nd time around as it all seemed so straight forward with my DD. However, I had tightenings every 10mins for about 40mins then it stopped - they were more than painless BH but not cx iyswim.

TMI but seeking advice. Went to loo, wearing thin panty liner as v moist down there. It seems I've 'seeped' through my panty liner/around outside & slightly stained my white pants. It smelled a little sweet but not like wee, and seemed a little dark in colour to be wee. I assumed your discharge in pg was quite thick & any "show" would be 'globby'. I have put a thick maternity pad in as I figured things would show up clearly on that, but any ideas what could be going on?!! Anyone else had similar? Blush

All this 'is it? isn't it?' is doing my head in, and although I know this isn't IT it, I keep wondering if its the early stages. Confused and slightly Angry

Oh and DH still has a bit of a headache but its better. Sounds like he had a migraine, which is perfect timing clearly!! I kept wondering how I would have the baby at home if he's zonked out in our bed...Hmm

Good luck tits, baby news by morning please!!

DS has nasty cough and has been up for last 90 mins crying & coughing. Been sitting in with him, managed to sneak out but keep getting the odd "where's mummy gone?". Please just let him sleep now!! DH in meantime has created a little nest in study with spare mattress. Not enough room to shut the door so I guess he won't sleep through DS's shouting tomorrow like he did this morning! Bed to myself, ahhhh....

Could it be waters seeping, chunky? That smells a bit sweet... My waters seeped with DS before breaking 2 days later. Keep pad on to check is best.

Chunkychicken · 03/11/2012 22:57

Thank you Dixie. I did wonder if it could be that... Do I DO anything, apart from the pad? I mean, obviously if the waters went, went, I'd call the MW etc etc but if they're seeping, is it worth calling?

HI all,
What an exciting thread. At 37 + 4 I can't see babybird being born on here.
Congratulations madame and good luck tits.

Chunky if I were you I would call them. They may want you to go in to be checked. With dc2 my waters went in a slow trickle due to a UTI and I ended up being induced to prevent infection.

With all of my previous labours my waters have gone but I then generally have a window before things kick off. With dc3 I was on a monitor ready to be sent home as wasn't having any contractions, he was asleep so didn't move so they kept me on for another 20 mins. Had 2 contractions during that time. He was born 45 mins later! Really hoping for a warning this time too.

I have no twinges at all really. Baby is very wrigglesome though. For those on number 2 with twinges I have to say that with dc 1 and 3 I had no real build up to labour until it had started and then was very textbook (show/waters/baby) but with dc2 I thought she would be born from 36 weeks. Loads of painful BH's and cramps but no show and waters only broke cos of UTI. Dc's 1 and 3 boys and dc2 a girl. Can you go into labour differently dependent on gender???

Will have to keep checking on here for new arrivals. Really should go to bed earlier too!

I've not caught up - sorry. I'll catch up in the morning!!

Just wanted a self indulgent whinge :(

Been to my mums for fireworks this evening. Except the fireworks were indoors, not out!!! Mums husband has 2 daughters, we are all of similar ages - me 28 (today!!), them 30, and 32. We all have children, oldest has 3, and the other has 2, and me obviously 1+1! All have partners.

So we were all there, and about 10pm an almighty row kicks off. The two sisters aren't talking after a fall out earlier this year, but they both attend stuff, just don't talk. It has never been 'awkward' until tonight.

It ended in tears (yes, mine!) and the men (not my DP!) hurling insults and going for each other. I nearly ended up calling the police. The children were all in the next room, with me and DP.

Oh it was just awful :( I've never been in that kind of situation before. They had all drunk too much so clearly judgement was not rational. But still... :(

Oh, and we just got home to find the dog on the sofa watching the TV with a sock in her mouth. And she has pissed on the carpet.

Happy frickin' anniversary/edd/birthday!

WHAT A WEEKEND!! No wonder baby wants to stay in!

(On the more positive side, got an email from manager at 9pm tonight she has no life letting me know that the statement she wants is from an incident form not a complaint, so clearly I must have written an incident form. Less worried now, but still, not nice - considering it was weeks ago!)

Sorry to hear you had a rubbish evening Detective.

Sounds like things are getting somewhere Tits if your waters have broken. I'm sure the contractions will get moving again. Are you getting enough pain relief now.

I'm awake at stupid o'clock because DS2 had a nightmare and is now taking up all the space in bed and generating heat. That's the first time he's ever come into our bed because of a nightmare. Thanks a lot to DH for putting on the Two Towers and leaving him to watch it by himself Hmm obviously a 12 is really suitable for a 6yo! I went downstairs when I heard him crying but it was already too late and he was watching really scary stuff on his own.

What was your DH thinking stunt? What a total dafty.

detective sounds horrid.

Nice one tits!

Well. Here am I on yet another ten minutely wee cycle. I came to bed at 10:30 but I am still lying here having had not a wink. No matter what position I am in baby kicks, grabs, bounces or squeezes my bladder causing a sharp pain and n immediate need for a wee. I go sitting down, standing up and repeat at least three times before coming back to bed. This happens about every 10 minutes. I am about demented.

The neighbours are still partying - I should join them,

I am so hacked off the even DH's sleep breath is making me furious. Poor soul - all he is doing is breathing and I want to kick him in the shins

I suppose I have no reason to get up tomorrow so I can sleep all day if I want. Doesn't stop it being bloody irritating if nothing else.

Confused why does laying flat on back make cx ao much worse?

Report
Passmethecrisps · 04/11/2012 04:19

Is it because you are working against gravity? No actual idea I'm afraid but virtually mopping your brow

Report
Titsalinabumsquash · 04/11/2012 05:10

Who knows but everytime I get comfy on my knees the contractions stop everytime I am put on my back to be monitored they ramp right up again, I thought it would be a good thing using gravity to pull him down. I think I'm going to labour ward to have my waters properly broken and the drip around 6am.
