Shellwedance · 14/10/2012 09:09

Great news Zara, hope you get some well deserved rest at home without the smell of poo!

Orenishii · 14/10/2012 09:27

Yay zara!! About the garlic - I LOVE cooked garlic but raw was just a hard limit for me. It burns! Apparently some people love it but you know, whatevs Grin So I would chop a clove up into teeny tiny bits and knock it all back with a lot of water. Good luck, hope it helps!

Beeble I've definitely had Hulk hands and feet for a while now, and getting out of bed each morning - my feet feel like they've been walking for miles. My fingers are killing me, like they're arthritic :(

huffle that bum spray looks amazing! I have aloe vera gel chilling in the fridge, and tea tree oil ready for the shallow baths Wink

Watched some lovely videos of hypnobirthing water births last night - really got me in the right frame of mind and I was caning the raspberry leaf tea while bouncing on the ball like nobody's business!

Katla · 14/10/2012 09:37

Quick update. 1 hand typing. Katla Jr born on 12th, 7lb 12. Sweep and sex success!! Baby named Erin Rose.

Zara1984 · 14/10/2012 09:46

Congrats Katla!!! Lovely name! Smile Thanks

Kyyria · 14/10/2012 10:02

Congrats Katla Grin

Hello loopy waves
Not too bad thanks - have had 2 nights ofbetter sleep - have managed 4 hour chunks but still disturbing myself turning over.

Had a.nice day waddling around Newcastle yesterday visiting all the places we love going to that aren't really baby friendly while we still can.

Few odd looks early evening from people starting a night on the razz at the heavily pregnant womano in the corner of the pub - amazing how many people looked me up and down, did a double take and just stared. Had fun staring them out evil cackle Wouldn't mind but I was.drinking soft drinks all afternoon/evening.

Well, have done the deed this morning. Really don't see how people can be thinking of doing that multiple times...uncomfortable on the bump just doing it once!!

Am sure bump has dropped again too after all the walking yesterday. Getting period pain cramps quite often now (presume they are BH) but no pattern to them. Pelvis is absolute agony today but knew it would be after yesterdays walking.

Don't know if it's being fed up with being uncomfortable or jealousy at other people getting their beans but I'm not feeling quite as freaked out about labour any more. Don't get me wrong, it's still freaking me out but I just feel a bit more accepting of it.

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday x

smileyhappymummy · 14/10/2012 10:21

Yay for being home zara and definitely feet up time. Agree that being dressed works wonders when it comes to getting discharged - convinced that's how I escaped 24 hrs post section!
Congratulations and welcome to erin rose too - gorgeous name.

hufflepuffle · 14/10/2012 10:32

Yay Katla!!!!! Congratulations and welcome Erin Rose!!!! Beautiful name!

Are the babies starting to arrive again???!!!

Brilliant Kyyria on having good day out, having lovely couple time, getting better sleep and DTD!!!!

Due date today! 40 wks I am!! Anyone taking bets??? I'd not put a penny on me!!!

Off to Ikea later. Nobberish paranoia wonders if should wear a pad just incase waters spectacularly break in public???? ( statistically highly unlikely I know but still........Blush Blush Blush Shock if it did!!!)

squidkid · 14/10/2012 10:37

Happy due date hufflepuffle. Apparently if your waters break in a shop said shop gives you loads of freebies... me and my mates considered faking this late in my pregnancy, ie throwing a bottle of water all over the floor and me collapsing dramatically with huge bump. Picking a v expensive shop, of course Grin

When my waters broke it was SO MUCH liquid that there was no way any pad would have stemmed the flow!! I'd just go and risk the lifetime of Ikea goods Grin

ps. when yomping has baby who is going to update /correct lists for us? Shock Shock We'll be lost!!

squidkid · 14/10/2012 10:39

Kyyria glad your sleep has improved a little. Yeah late preg sex is humiliating isn't it!? still immediately post-birth sex appears to be non-existent so I'm glad I got a fair bit in when I could! Hope you don't have too long to wait for bean. I found I was accepting of labour up to nearly 40 weeks, then I had a fuckinghellwhyamilate meltdown and refused to do bouncing on the ball, pelvic floor exercises, etc and just sulked!

Katla many congratulations. Flowers

crazypaving · 14/10/2012 10:52

Congrats katla and hooray for zara going home!! Fab news all round Smile

Orenishii · 14/10/2012 10:54

Congratulations Katia!! Welcome baby Erin - beautiful name Grin

Happy due date Huffle Definitely try and get some freebies from Ikea...Oh the due date is such a funny one isn't it - awaited with such excitement and trepidation and probably such an anti-climax. Hope it's not for you though lovely, unless you're hoping for a little while longer, in which case I hope for that too Wink

My due date is Tuesday and I panic-last-minute bought a TENS machine, with guaranteed Monday delivery from Amazon. Only to be a massive knob and had it sent to my work. No chance to change the delivery address. Argh. Have emailed colleagues begging them to take it to the post office for a Tuesday delivery - due date day - and while it's unlikely things will start, it would just be sod's law, wouldn't it!

YompingJo · 14/10/2012 11:04

Katla, congratulations, beautiful name (I have never taught an Erin who wasn't completely gorgeous!) and well done for getting us going again with the babies being born! Mysterious radio silence from Midget is making me think there's baby action there too Grin.

Huffle, happy due date! Wine.

Zara, glad you are out. Think it is highly ironic that if you have high BP, they stick you in one of the most stressful environments you could be in to see if it will come down.

Squid, no need to worry, this baby is NEVER coming out Confused. DH and I have to keep reminding ourselves that if you take LMP date, we're not even actually due till tomorrow, but because of stupid early date from scan we feel like we're been due for such a long time now Sad. I have SO had the sulking stage, refused to do massage or listen to CD for about 5 days in a row but am now feeling silly about that and back to being good conscientious pregnant girl (apart from the half a cheesecake I am eating currently as breakfast dessert but we'll ignore that...).

List is just cutting, pasting and modifying, am sure someone else can do it, I'm just anal very organised (and bored!) so do it frequently. Speaking of which...

YompingJo · 14/10/2012 11:05

PS Huffle, if you go to Ikea please, please, for me, stick some washing up brushes around the place! It will really liven up your visit! It could be a whole new MN "thing" (like the fucker snails, did anyone read that thread?)

londonlivvy · 14/10/2012 12:04

Oh my. I am shattered. I think a combination of the relief of finally finishing work and then 24 hours of my sister and her kids (6 & 4). They are mostly very well behaved, but do take energy, as with all kids. And the four year old had a very impressive hour-long tantrum this morning. Wowsers.

DF and I just went for a glorious walk in the sun and now I'm chilling out whilst he does (yet more) studying. Poor guy. Doing a full on job and a masters is hard work. I take my hat off to anyone who does it londonmrss and kyyria I'm thinking of you particularly.

Hard to respond to everyone as on my phone (and too lazy to move to computer) but smorgs wishing you luck with French telecom companies, huffle good luck in IKEA (i know b &q give you 250 quid of vouchers if your waters break. Not sure on IKEA policy). I may brave it tomorrow.
Congrats katla.

Midgetm · 14/10/2012 12:14

Quick update. katia congratulations. May add sex into my sweep mix.

Loads of contractions, not much else. Another sweep tomorrow if no movement and the waters being popped Tuesday. Knackered and excited and terrified in equal measure.

Big waves to all will try and catch up properly later.

Kyyria · 14/10/2012 13:09

I have had a.full morning of BH period type pains on and off which are.making me feel rough (and a bit queasy) Confused

I know they're BH cos they ease off when I change position, but must admit they feel more intense than the ones I've had the rest of this week Hmm

Asked DH this morning "how will I know when it's the real thing" but I hope suppose it will be obvious Hmm Confused

I'm trying to convince myself that even with the best.will in the world my LO is not going to arrive 2 weeks early and that it's just a heightened sense of what's going on with my body for when things do happen!

Orenishii · 14/10/2012 13:40

Kyyria I keep saying exactly the same thing - I have random "tightenings" but since that's the word people use to describe contractions...how do you know??

TMI alert - suddenly had loads of creamy, gloopy discharge but not blood streaked. Don't think it's la plug. God, all these half-signs are nightmare! It was exactly the same trying to figure out if this was EWCM nine months ago Wink

LoopyLa · 14/10/2012 14:06

Kyrria you can't have baby 2 weeks early because I'm not quite ready for mine to turn up quite that early, ok?! Ok? Please just keep your legs crossed & tell your baby to behave, I don't want to fall out over this with you Wink

Kyyria · 14/10/2012 14:29

Cheers loopy Grin

Thankfully it seems to have eased off now - have had about an hour without anything so hoping it stays that way! It was all period type pain under bump - I figured if it was proper contractions it would have been all over my bump. Glad it's passed though - just wanted to curl up in a corner!

I don't want mine to arrive before I've had chance to do my coursework that's due in on 3rd Nov! Am planning on sitting down tomorrow and trying to get things written so if he can give me a couple more days that would be much appreciated Wink

LoopyLa · 14/10/2012 15:13

Good Kyrria bumpy, settle down for your mum Wink

Having said that, I have also noticed an increase in BH - although no crampyness as such - but increase in pressure in pelvis & backache!! Confused Maybe baby's head is getting engaged ???

Is anyone not bothering to go & get a proper fitting for nursing bras but instead measuring themselves & ordering over tinternet? With the hot sweats, the backache, the need for the loo every 10 mins the thought of going to a shop & faffing about a changing room with a million bras just fills me with dread - so I'm looking at alternatives. Any thoughts?

dosomethingmutley · 14/10/2012 15:15

Congratulations katla hope you and Erin Rose are recovering well Smile

39 weeks today for me and joining all of you with half signs that never seem to last for very long. Odd twinges, periody-type pains and heavy pelvis when she drops down, but nothing that's lasted more than half a day. Ho hum. Refuse to get impatient for another 10 days at least...

Loving the idea of shop freebies if your waters break; DH has just suggested that I go and camp out in the Apple store and see if I can't bag myself an iPhone or new iMac! geek

Hugs to all those thoroughly fed up with pregnancy by now. Am currently feeling quite zen and relaxed about it all, but not entirely sure how long this will last.

ttfn,
Mutley

Londonmrss · 14/10/2012 16:04

Loopy and Kyyria, I'm jealous of your BH! I still haven't felt a single one! Should I be worried? Maybe I'll just be pregnant forever.

Loopy, I've become a huge fan of Bravado bras. They only come in small, medium and large and the medium fits me perfectly (I'm a 36D at the mo) so I've bought a couple of larges too for the post birth uber-boobage. I'm definitely not up for going into any shops.

Just walked 7 miles all around Greenwich and Blackheath in the sunshine today! A bit achy in the bump area now, but pretty proud of myself as am generally feeling so tired I can barely move most days even though I'm sleeping ok.

Congratulations Katla- love the name Erin- that's going to be the middle name of our little girl because it means Irish- which I am (by blood only- I grew up in Yorkshire).

OP posts:
Beeblebear · 14/10/2012 16:04

Congratulations katla love the name. Rose is on our future girls name lest if we do eventually ave another.

oren yes definately feeling arthriticz hopimg yoga today will help. And I also am having tightenings. They are not painfull at all. Just feel like my uterus is a balloon and it's being blown up to just about popping. It also generally takes my breath away for a bit. No back pain though so I don't think they are real contractions.

Had a dream last night that baby was kicking me . and I was able to grab his foot through my tummy and I wouldn.t let it go. Odd

MickeyTheShortOne · 14/10/2012 16:23

"I recommend you employ my patented foot shaking technique (looks like what a dog does after peeing on a lamppost)"

Lordy, I think I may have just inhaled half my tea up my nose. AHAHA!

Congratulations Katla, I also love the name :)

Yomping, fucker snails?

MickeyTheShortOne · 14/10/2012 16:27

Beeble I also had a similar dream not so long ago, it was so wierd!! I could see toes and everything.
My poor DP is under instructions to deforest me today. Although he did at first read my note wrongly and thought I'd said "defrost". Pahahaha!

Have had my sister round this weekend as she is having a hard time from some girls at school and she wanted some loving sisterly support. Oh, the life of teenagers. It's scary how hormonal and horrible they can be... Oh well. Ten nice years to deal with idiot first timer first!!

Fjord I hope you are feeling a bit better. Thinking of you xxx
