Yay MrsConfusion!!!!!!!! Welcome to the world littleMissyC!!!! Congratulations all!!!

Yes,, slow down peeps!!!!

bella2012 · 04/10/2012 18:05

every time Yomping does a list we get more babies! Amazing!

crazy am thrilled for you! Huge congratulations and so glad you are not suffering all the pregnancy hardships any more. I know that looking after a newborn is hardly a breeze but at least you can hold your little one in your arms now! Wonderful. Can't wait to hear your story.

mrsC huge congratulations to you! So glad you have popped in to tell us! Big love to your wee family!

cwest my heart really goes out to you. I think you are amazing for coping so well. I too would urge you to put your case to them again-you will be able to rest much easier if you have had a little bit of time with your LO. My health visitor did say to me, (in order to encourage me to stay at the birth centre for a couple of days post birth and not rush back to DS) that i need to remember why on a plane they make you put your own oxygen mask on before helping anyone else. Try and make yourself accept that you do actually need this time to rest, then you will be able to give both your children the best care you can. And it is so evident from everything you have written about your DS that you are a really wonderful Mummy. I am sure in the long run, neither of them will suffer from this, it is much harder on poor old you. I too wish I could give you a hug! So that is three MN weirdos you will be worried about now! Big hugs xx

bella2012 · 04/10/2012 18:19

me again...

fjord how are you feeling? Hope you are getting plenty pain relief for your scar?

yomping sorry you woke up with the blues. How do you feel after your class? I am full of awe that you managed that. I took DS swimming which involved floating around after him and that was uncomfortable enough! Very glad your midwife actually listened to you about the due date. I haven't got the foggiest if mine is right or not.

Having just blidly waded my way through pregnancy vaguely drawing on all the antenatal stuff I learnt last time, I am finally making myself sit down and read about birth. Eek! I am hoping that this will help me feel ready. I am suffering terribly with my lower back which is something i suffer with anyway, but yesterday it felt a bit like it does during my period. All i could think was 'NOT YET!' despite how uncomfortable I am and fed up with preg stuff. So I want to somehow be a bit more ready for it. I, like midget am nobberishly trying to attempt a children's bday party for DS a meer 4 days before I am due. So I really need baby not to be early! dS's bday is a day before my due date so it has to be done. He is so excited for his party-I rally don't want it not to happen.

Well DH is actually home tonight for bedtime so I am chuffed to bits to get a rest. Going to get a hot water bottle on my back now...bliss!

Hugs to you all xxx

Smorgs · 04/10/2012 18:27

Cripes, you're shelling them out like peas! Congratulations MrsC, crazypaving, Planktonette ... And not least fjordmor for a few days ago. I'm thinking of those of you with babies in scbu or with c sections too, my problems will seem so very inconsequential compared to what you're all going through.

Well it's taken me a few days to 'regroup'. Had a weird weekend - mostly I felt fine then suddenly I burst into tears at nothing, or over reacted at least eg DH suggesting we go for a 'gentle walk' ... in the Pyrenees... a 2 hour drive away. I still feel a bit weird though, not quite myself. I love hearing about everyone's births and babies but I flit between feeling really jealous that you all get to enjoy lovely snuffly newborn cuddles and then utterly terrified at how life is going to change so completely soon. I don't feel ready to be a mummy, what if my child hates me?

And I'm so scared of labour. Saw the gynae on Tuesday and he did reassure me that nothing was compulsory and if I wanted a hypnobollocks water birth to organic whale music that's fine, but hearing all your stories makes me think there is no way I'm going to be able to cope with the pain.

Plus I still, despite moving in more than a month ago, have no Internet connection or telephone line so can't call family/friends without it costing a bomb on my mobile.

Anyway, like I said a lot of you are going through far worse than me, which does help to give me perspective, although I know that probably doesn't help you sorry! I am reading the thread regularly but as I'm posting from mobile its hard to keep up sometimes. Hang in there October Bean Bakers.

hufflepuffle · 04/10/2012 18:48

Nice to hear from you smorgs ! I struggle to keep up and rmbr who is doing what on here but it had occurred to me you had not been about for while.

Chin up! Ditto to ALL those feelings!! Xx

YompingJo · 04/10/2012 19:02

Will everyone stop having babies already, I can't keep up! GrinGrin

Only joking, of course. Crazy, congrats, hope introductions with DS1 went well!

MrsConfusion, had been wondering how you were getting on, glad to hear all good, sounds like a bit of a whirlwind!

Smorgs, lol at hypnobollocks with whale music. That's what I'm aiming for too. Breathe in the golden light, it will all be chilled and serene and stuff Hmm

Katla · 04/10/2012 19:05

It's my due date today but not any sign of anything kicking off anytime soon sigh - I was so sure s/he would be on time... I had loads of BH crampy feelings yesterday so thought it was starting, have been bouncing hopefully on my birthing ball to get the baby in the mood - is that meant to do anything!!

I had a feel of my cervix earlier too (sorry TMI perhaps!!) and it feels soft and squashy - whereas before being pregnant it felt firmer like nose end, but no gap or anything to feel so maybe it's not near starting at all... Who knows, I'm just feeling rather jealous of all those with babies already!

crazypaving · 04/10/2012 19:11
Lizzietow · 04/10/2012 19:20

Omg catla!! I so daren't go even near my own cervix! In fact I dread to think what it looks like down there anyways- all feels a little distended already!
Just to confirm for the list that this is my DD2. DD1 is now 2 and gave me a proper 'terrible twos' showdown at bedtime tonight! Knackered!
Interesting talk of due dates, yomping. I forgot that I worked out my own due date to be the 6th, based on day last period started, but scan put me to the 12th.

Midgetm · 04/10/2012 19:22

bella learn from my mistakes and take it easy. I worked like a dog and when it hit me, it really hit me. Try and let others do the more physical stuff and don't push yourself too hard.

Smorgs · 04/10/2012 19:22

Oh thanks huffle it's nice to feel missed! I was going to send your baby 'stay in till Wednesday' vibes but seems a bit redundant now it's Thursday. Have you finished work now? Did you manage to get cover in the end? I know what you mean about the hair too, its just so... shiny and it behaves when I want it to go straight. Wish I could say the same about my skin though.

elpis I meant to write days ago to send you a virtual hug and say you are trying to do too much, but I can totally understand why when your little one just wants to go to the park and play. You have more on your plate than most of us here so you really need to look after yourself . I hope you're feeling better now.

cwest also sending you a big hug, that's such a tricky situation.
I hope they let you be with your little one soon, but equally do look after yourself.

londonlivvy well done on finishing your yoga course, hope the last few days at work don't drag.

yomping you look great in your picture! I did laugh at your ranty list too, you're so funny. I have listed all the same gripes some days.

Right, in an effort to cheer us up (those of us who feel fat and cumbersome obv, not those with snuggly newborns) I stumbled across this vid from Isabella Oliver on maternity 'style'. So unintentionally hilarious. I personally think she looks like a yeti.

springersmum · 04/10/2012 19:35

Hi all! Thanks for the link to FB page :-) Due date was due yesterday, all quiet again today! Not really in a rush, BUT DD turns 3 on the 22nd so would be nice if I can walk pain free for her party (and ideal to have their b'days spaced a little)! Took DD to a toddler and mummy gym class this afternoon, did lots if jumping so hopefully that might get him moving!
Loving all the new baby stories :-)
cwest sending hugs, must be awful to be separated from all your babies, really hope you're all together soon x

Katla · 04/10/2012 19:42

Haha, it wasn't easy to reach I'll tell you! Sorry, def TMI!! Sorry, too far Katla, too far...

smileyhappymummy · 04/10/2012 19:54

My beautiful dd is here. Lovely calm section.
Love to all of you

Smorgs · 04/10/2012 20:03

Yay smiley! Congratulations!

londonlivvy · 04/10/2012 20:04

YAY smiley congrats

Smorgs lovely to hear from you and FFS re telephone connection. Get those frenchies into gear!

Ladies - is there such a thing as too much pregnancy movement? I ask because this afternoon, this little girl has been non stop squirming since about lunchtime and it's really pretty uncomfortable. This isn't normal (for me). I get a few minutes of squirmage at 2pm, again at 5 and then at 10pm. I'm probably being captain paranoid but... thoughts please...

Lizzietow · 04/10/2012 20:09

smiley that's great!!! Oooh I wish we could see pics of all the babies!

Am I supposed to be bouncing on a birthing ball? I do have one- I'd forgotten!

Planktonette · 04/10/2012 21:26

cherry - your best bet with cauliflower is to chop it into florets, blanch, and freeze, then chuck into recipe later.

Reason being, cooking breaks down the cell structure in the plant- cooked veg is mushier than raw, right? Freezing also breaks down the cell structure in the plant - defrosted veg is mushier than raw too. So if you cook then freeze, you're breaking down the cells twice > very mushy. Also the brown top will lose its yummy springiness.

bella2012 · 04/10/2012 21:47

got the whooping cough vaccine today and I feel rough as anything. Did anyone else feel ill after having it?

Angelico · 04/10/2012 22:24

Hurray! Congrats for Crazypaving, MrsC and Smilie! :) Sending you all lots of love Thanks

CWest sending a hug for you :( It must be awful and frustrating but you know yourself that you will have a whole lifetime to get to know your wee one - this time is such a small part of it all. You need to rest as best you can so you have the energy you need when you get home. Take care Thanks

Yomping glad your dates have been sorted. Will check out that newborn thread when my eyes aren't falling out of my head some time in 2014

Hello to everyone else. Can hear DD 'exercising her lungs' in the other room. DH is holding her. I am fucking exhausted.

hufflepuffle · 04/10/2012 22:34

Ooof. Just in from yoga. V knackered now.

Bella I got mine along with flu jab on Tues. felt fine but today I look like I hav a big muscle on right arm!!! This is hilarious as I hav arms like twigs....... This is not hilarious cos it feels dead and heavy and bit itchy. And this is the one they give babies??? Not a bit of wonder the poor wee souls are out of sorts after!!!!

Smorgs thanks 4 vibes!! My replacement is thankfully recovered enough to work...... Back today!! Hope upon hope she not back too soon!!

Yay Smileyhappymummy!!!!!!! Congratulations and welcome littlecutesmiley!!!!! Glad all went calmly, love to you all.

That's as far as I can reach back folks!!!

Hope all well, hope you all get decent nights kip,

Xx

Midgetm · 04/10/2012 22:59

plankton is the queen of the freezer. Grin

Beccus · 04/10/2012 23:10

congrats Mrs C, Smiley and crazy :), babies, babies, babies!

Well done yomping, you time traveller, going back in time in your pregnancy.

Hugs tocwest and beeble, your situations just sound horrible, horrible, horrible for you at the moment.

Saw midwife today, apparently my baby's bum is hard to differentiate from its head :) Got sent for presentation scan, but bubs is still head down ;)

Did a little dress rehearsal of labor today, DP did very well - he has midwife's number, taxi numbers, cash and knows where my notes and favorite positions are and even practiced a bit of massage - loooking forward to labor massage :)

Cherrychopsticks · 05/10/2012 02:49

Congratulations Crazy, what a great weight. Hope all goes well with the big introduction! Thanks

And more congratulations to MrsConfusion!! Sounds like you had a hard time, but you've got the right idea of looking on the bright side at your healthy little one! Thanks

And yet more congratulations to Smiley and family! Wishing you a very speedy recovery Thanks

Look forward to hearing more from you all when you get a chance.

My BP has always been that low too Huffle and Midget, but I think they say as long as it's normal for you, then it's not low IYSWIM. And I'm proud to say, I've never fainted in my life! Not actually sure why I'm proud of that but....

Midget have you made a decision yet re CS Vs. induction?

All hail Queen Plankton of the Freezer! Thanks for getting back to me when you have so much on your plate. Will definitely do as you say, makes a lot of sense.

Hope you're feeling a bit chirpier now, Yomping, and I'm glad you got your due date sorted - one less thing to worry about.

Today is the final day of Open Class week at school. It's really taken it out of me - much more stressful, kids way more excited, far too many people in one room, working double as having to support in my partner's classes etc. etc. I'm so glad it's over!
I'm going to talk to my partner today about making Oct. 19th officially my last day, instead of just going on indefinitely. This will give me just over a week of Mat. Leave if baby stays put Perfect!

Must get ready for work, running really late now but cant say I really care. Hopefully no more babies have been born while I was typing!

OctoberOctober · 05/10/2012 05:10

Not sure if this the start of things or if I'm just feeling bit funny but been up a lot tonight with what feels like backache and period pains....

This is a week earlier than due date so not beyond possibility. But was expecting something more dramatic to kick off!

Cwest - have been following your progress and hope you get time with your LO soon.
