Good luck 10

Not checked in for a while, had very bad MS and headaches, non stop. Can't go near the kitchen and the smell of food is making me feel dreadful. Difficult as we have an open plan house!

Looking after my DD has proved very difficult too. Been trying to sleep when she has but not that easy and has chosen this week to get bad nappy rash so changing has been a joy.

Finally managed to eat something just now, a mini magnum, have lost 3 pounds since I got this blooming MS. Just want to be better but then of course paranoia will set in!!

Was doing about 2 miles a day walking but haven't moved from the sofa or bed for 3 days...oops.

PedanticPanda · 10/10/2012 16:32

I've been ill for about a week and a half now, stuck either in bed or under a duvet on the couch. I feel constantly sick, dizzy, lightheaded and completely exhausted. Just before that I had about a week of painful headaches that I was stuck in bed or on the couch with.

At first I thought I just kept picking up bugs but now am wondering does this sound pregnancy related? Could it all just be that I'm having horrible pregnancy symptoms? I'm 8 weeks today.

With my son the first trimester was a breeze, apart from being tired and the odd dizzy spell which is why I'm not sure if this is all down to symptoms or not.

rachywhite83 · 10/10/2012 17:22

Rubbish day today. Ended up home back in bed after starting my journey to work I developed a nasty migraine and had to get on the train back home. I ended up not being able to see and lost feeling in my hand. Sad I went to see the doctor and he checked my blood pressure because I have always suffered from migraines but everything was ok.

Hoping for sympathy from my DH when he gets home

Bunnychan · 10/10/2012 17:51

pedantic they are all symptoms but it sounds like your really suffering so I would get in touch with your gp or midwife as it sounds like its taking it's toll on you and you need your strength!

I also have a question; are upper stomach aches/discomfort (but not pain) normal? I'm 7+5 x

ng1412 · 10/10/2012 18:04

pedantic sounds like we have the same pregnancy symptoms. I had exactly the same problems when I was pregnant with my DD. Looked back at my diary and saw it was the same time too. I am 7+5 and last time it started at 7 weeks and ended at 10. So only 2 more weeks of this pain. Yikes.

kittykatskumkwat · 10/10/2012 18:08

Pedantic I flew through the first tri last time without a care, since 6 wks this time I've felt icky all day, not as bad as alot of you sound but dizzy sicky etc I wonder if each pregnancy gets worse??
Speak to mw or gp if concerned but I think they will say it is pregnancy related Sad
Isn't the first tri just the pits!!!

BeauticianNotMagician · 10/10/2012 20:13

Hi all.Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling so bad.Im still worried as my only symptom is the urinating more frequently.

I had terrible sickness with both the ds's and was just completely wiped out for the first 12 weeks.I found ginger beer/ginger biscuits helped a little.I also slept at every given opportunity which was great with ds1 and not so great with ds2 as being 17 months apart i couldnt really sleep with a baby to attend to all day and night.

I promise you all it will get better and be but a distant memory soon.

peardrop2 · 10/10/2012 20:23

I read an interesting article this week saying that if you took folic acid before falling pregnant it can help reduce morning sickness. I started taking folic acid in February 2012 as instructed by the nurse. I wonder if this is why I haven't got ms?!

shelly81 · 10/10/2012 20:34

hi ladies just a quick one my other half nipped in tesco this morning and came home with some anti-sickness bands called sea bands from the chemist bit ..... They are awesome I've not been sick all day and am only feeling slightly nauseas every now and again, which is amazing because I've constantly been sick .... Fingers crossed they carry on working xxx

beaver33 · 10/10/2012 20:43

Thanks beaut - can't wait to look back and laugh! I'm sure your lack of symptoms are nothing to worry about. Seems like there's a wide variation between how we're all feeling. When's your scan, btw? I'm a week on Monday...so soon!

shelly thanks for the tip! Might just give that a go (if I can get my lazy vomiting ass off the sofa).

Food update: today have consumed one bowl of crunchy nut, two buttered bagels. Hate self.

Ellypoo · 10/10/2012 20:46

Hi all, not got ms as such, but a definite queasiness in the evenings, regardless of whether iv eaten or not. Absolutely wiped out constantly too - can get through the working day but that's about it.

My scan is 2 wks tomorrow - counting down!

BeauticianNotMagician · 10/10/2012 21:00

Sorry pear I think it's rubish too, I never took it with dd as after over a year of trying thought it was a waste of money as didn't think I could get pregnant so didn't take it till I found out I was pregnant, no sickness!
This time I've been taking it since bf dd so for atleast 8 months, definatly feel worse!!
I've bought the sea bands yesterday but yet to feel much difference yet Sad

MooLL · 11/10/2012 08:33

10storey I saw the Rooney new too! Can't believe it as I was preggers with my DD at the same time as she was with her DS (only DD was a month premature hence oct not Nov birthday) - she is like my pregnancy buddy!

MooLL · 11/10/2012 08:37

btw - do any of you have the annoyance of looking sort of non-pregnant at the start of the day only to puff up like a puffer fish thoughtout the day ... by about 9pm I know look like humpty dumpty most days - not a good look!

seven77 · 11/10/2012 09:00

Hope all of those feeling ill are better soon. My only symptom is tiredness, DD even let me have 8 hours last night, I've still woken up more tired than when I went to bed.

Hope the scan goes well 10, I don't even have a date for mine yet, and 12 weeks still feels ages away.

Glad to hear the bleeding stopped cheerful.

I've got my booking in next week, though I found out yesterday my brilliant MW I had with the other two has retired.

RTchoke · 11/10/2012 09:01

Moo - I too have evening weight gain. All my clothes start digging in around 6pm. Most uncomfy.

How come Colleen has announced? If she is really due in May she can't be 12 weeks yet can she?

Sorry so many are feeling ill. I'm having a bad day, I'll between 3 and 6am, now exhausted and still queasy. Have decided I can't hack the Tube so am going to work from home. I just feel really down as well. Does anyone else feel like their life is on hold until they feel better: can't socialise, can't exercise, can't even keep on top of the house properly, kids being snapped at too often... Urgh.

RTchoke · 11/10/2012 09:03

At should say "ill between 3 and 6am". Not "I'll". Bloody iPhone.

MammaBrussels · 11/10/2012 09:09

Hello everyone, may I join in? I'm due with DC2 on May 13. Had a scan on Monday and everything is fine. Have an anomaly scan and lots of blood tests on the 26th. Got nausea and very sore boobs (not helped by the fact I'm still BFing DS).

Wishing you all a pleasant and vomit free day!
