berri · 05/10/2012 17:15

Oh Vickles that's not good!!

Good luck with the scan tomorrow :)

wilderumpus · 05/10/2012 17:36

oh vickles! good luck tomorrow!

Picklep · 05/10/2012 17:40

Good luck Vickles! Glad others are craving Maccy D's, I too normally eat very healthily but i can't stomach the thought of fruit and veg at all at moment, I just want bland carby based things, like mcchicken sandwich meal, I've had two in as many weeks. I haven't eaten white sliced bread in years but it's all i can handle at moment, as a ham or crisp sandwich!

If that's what my body wants, that's what it's getting!

Thingiebob · 05/10/2012 17:49

Ha I found you all!

I have a ham sandwich on white bread virtually everyday. It doesn't have to even be decent bread. Value stuff is fine at the mo!

I ate a crisp sandwich on white bread for tea the other night Picklep
Really not the sort of thing I eat so my DH just stared at me in fascination as I munched.

I've have, however, been trying to increase my intake of leafy green veg and have been popping Spinach, watercress or rocket in my sandwiches. Anyone else attempting healthy eating? I'm finding fruit a bit sickmaking.
This time round I am alternating between nausea and extreme hunger. I get evening sickness, something I didn't get last time. Still managed to put on NINE pounds despite baby only weighing as much as a kidney bean...

LittleBairn · 05/10/2012 17:53

Oh no now I want a white bread crisp sandwich. You lot are a bad influence! Grin

LittleBairn · 05/10/2012 17:57

My favourite way to eat spinach is raw wrapped in ham. Yummy.
I love rocket too, eat it out of the packet like its crisps.
I love cress and egg sandwiches too.

Yet I'm considering going to confer shop for a loaf of bread and packet of walkers. Then when DH gets home getting him to take me to McDs.

On the plus side I did manage to finally load the dish washer.

7+3

BeauticianNotMagician · 05/10/2012 18:01

Wilde Its your fault i have just got a chinese. You put the thought in my head earlier Grin

Then Taybarns tomorrow.I'm going to be putting on a lot of weight at this rate.

wilderumpus · 05/10/2012 18:11

ha ha beaut! well you made me research taybarns and ponder doing the hour long journey to get there!

i love maccy dees when pg too! but am also being weird because am eating more fruit and veg than before i was pg... since getting pg with ds 3 years ago i have stuggled with veg (yes all that time) when before i loved it... so weird! and i eat brown bread when normally love white! am really surprised actually.

10- you feel better and have a rubish jacket potato!!! You'll be as thin as a rake at the end of this!
I usually eat salad and fruit every week day not weekend I'm not a total angel but Wednesday just couldn't not have that macdonalds, I think it must be the salt as I don't really have salt with anything, I remember loving it in the first tri last time too, you'd think we'd crave fruit etc but I remember the only thing I went off last time for abit was salad and coleslaw when it's usually my fab thing

milkandribena · 05/10/2012 19:48

glad some of your sickness is going away.
I want a take away now :( and I just had tea.
little with you on the rocket. I just eat peppers raw - like an apple. That's one thing I can't stomach at the moment apples. yuck!

hopefully there are some nice plans for the weekend. I'm meant to go and meet up with non-man this weekend. But dreading the tube with a broken foot. :(

I should be doing some work now but I can't be bothered so I think i-player calls

Picklep · 05/10/2012 20:00

The one veg I can stomach is cucumber and I'm averaging one a day!

Hey guys, been a long day today with morning/afternoon/evening sickness today, not great at work (RT I'm a GP - qualified last year) one of the receptionists has sussed me out after she caught me taking the Doppler out of my handbag this morning and I've had to swear her to secrecy otherwise the whole village will know in no time! She was really nice though and made me a cup of decaf tea and a massive fruit salad at coffee break - was quite hard to stomach but it did stay put, so after all that fruit earlier I'm feeling slightly better about eating a hunk of cheese for dinner as it was the only thing I could even imagine putting in my mouthConfused

Can't wait for my private scan tomorrow either, very excited!

LittleBairn · 05/10/2012 20:38

milk Oh I love raw peppers too I put them in everything. My favourite used to be hummus in a wrap with loads of raw veggies. But haven't been able to stomach Hummus yet.

So went to the supermarket and bought a load of rubbish, actually felt embarresed at the till. It was all sausage rolls and crisps. Blush I did manage to buy some Avacados.

LittleBairn · 05/10/2012 21:03

white bread I imagine most of us choosing white when we would usually chose brown is because the white is easier to breakdown, espically important when your constipated.

CheerfulYank · 06/10/2012 04:37

I'm another one just wanting plain carby things :)

Ginger tea is helping my ms, thankfully!

I'm at the hospital right now; I was with my friend through her c section and am staying with her and baby overnight! Baby is called Amelia and is beautiful and perfect and I am getting lots of baby cuddles. :)

LittleBairn · 06/10/2012 07:56

Oh how lovely cheerful sweet name too. Smile

Im off out soon to spend the day with my family. I had a good chat my my mum last night she really cheered my up with tales of her pregnacys ( she hated being pregnant otherwise she would have had a lot more children) and how she worked in Greggs with me when she had MS [boak] but had to leave once it turned to hypermiser. Oh and the fact my dad got pregnacy cravings!

Advice needed !
I received a letter from my doctor about getting the flu jab in an open clinic today and next Saturday and I don't know if I should get it. A few of my pregnant friends on Facebook have said they have been having lots of contraction like pain (they are a few months ahead) but I'm not sure what to do. Anybody got any words of wisdom ?

PedanticPanda · 06/10/2012 09:39

There is a Q&A thing on mn just now about the flu jab, I think the answers are getting answered on Wednesday. I'm waiting until it's been answered before making a decision about the flu jab. Maybe you could check it out and ask a few that are worrying you?

rachywhite83 · 06/10/2012 10:10

Thanks Pedantic will have a look at that

cuppateaandagingersnap · 06/10/2012 10:50

I've had my flu jab already and was fine. There is a really high risk of mc with having the flu and a much higher chance of catching the flu than having any problems after the vaccine so it just made sense to me to get it, especially as I will be seeing lots of people with flu over the winter.
