Hi again-sorry for not really giving any more details!! I can empathise with those of you feeling uncomfortable though..

So, are you sitting comfortably?? Then ill begin.. my waters broke about 5 mins after I had got in from running errands in town and popping in to work!! Had just sat on the sofa with a cup of tea and a scone, and a clearly heard a pop and then my waters started gushing. Likely I jumped up and got to the toilet in time to let most of it out...
Called delivery and was told to go in. Waited for df to come back from work and take me in. Was told that as I wasn't having painful contractions they would monitor me for a bit on the ward and I'd nothing happened would send me home and get me back in the next day for an induction. Luckily when I was on the ward the contractions started properly as I didn't fancy being induced!
They kept me on the ward til about 11 though despite being in quite a lot of pain... And clearly disturbing the poor people in the beds nearby with their new babies!! But I had a bath which was nice and did help with the pain.
By the time I got up to the delivery suite I was in agony and asked for an epidural-the doctor was just about to put it in and I started pushing-he was out in 3 pushes!! L
Think I was lucky they didn't actually do the epidural else I wouldn't have been able to move around or do anything after he had been born.
I couldn't have him put straight onto my chest because he had such a short cord it wouldn't reach, so had to wait for df to cut it first!
I had been worried about him bring poorly with him being so early, but he was fine, no probes breathing or anything (my 1st ds was also born at 36 wks and spent a wk in scbu) so we could take him straight down to the ward.
He's been absolutely perfect ever since!! Sleeps really well and feeds really well too! He goes about 4/5 hrs between feeds sometimes, but will then feed for about an hour! Mw told me to wake him every 3 hrs, but don't see the point as if he's not hungry-he's not going to drink... You can take a horse to water!!
We were discharged from hospital on thurs evening, and told that we had to wait for the midwife to come the next day, and also to make an appt with the gp for him to have his 24 hr check-a tip for you lot is to ask for them to do this at the hospital so that you don't have to go out to the surgery-I was exhausted when I got back afterwards!!
Anyway.. Things are going well and both dc are very taken with their new baby brother!! And I am enjoying the snuggles-df is getting very good at changing nappirs too!! Long may it last!!
Sorry for the mammoth post, but thought I should catch up with you all!! Wonder who will be next??
