Now I know the threads we were in weren't finished, but there were 3 threads for the September due dates, and I thought it would be nice to get everyone together and share their experiences.

Stats thread is here If you aren't on there, then get adding yourself.

Hopefully we can all get through the last stint together :)

I'm due 1st Sept, so one month to go, if the LO is punctual.

A baby girl! Congratulations ssmile!

I just had a message from NCT friend who has been taken into hospital and induced due to high BP - so another is expected this evening.. It is super exciting and all a bit emotional, no?

Good job I have squeezing nipples for milk to cheer me up :o

Thanks all, for promising to keep me company till 'the end' - you're all just swell :)

CBear6 · 26/08/2011 22:29

Congratulations ssmile, well done! Hope you get lots of rest and lots of lovely newborn cuddles :)

Conker - I felt like DS had moved because I felt really heavy in my hips/pelvis/lower tummy/bottom as opposed to pressure in my lower ribs. I mistakenly thought this meant I was 10cm and it was nearly over, but the MW had a feel and told me 6cm but he had engaged (face up though, the little toad darling).

I've been having a bit of a wobble about going massively overdue and baby being a 12lb giant with a huge head. DH reassured me by saying it'll happen on this coming Thursday because he's got the day off work and has plans, then he cheered me up by rubbing my feet and painting my toenails - would be great if I could see them :o

I think you'll be next 100years, I bet you're posting a birth announcement by the end of this coming week :)

Conkertree · 26/08/2011 22:53

Ooh i need to stay off th internet. Going into overdrive after being offline for so long. Keep going on ebay and seeing gorgeous slings, but i already have three so i really dont need another, but they are so pretty.

And other hammocks after Feralgirl talked about the miyo hammock.

Must not spend any more money.

Sumi76 · 27/08/2011 00:00

Congrats ssmile :)

100years · 27/08/2011 04:25

Good middle of the night! That's the late-stage pregnant ladies greeting I fear!

Yawns.

BH but nothing painful.

TP hope your friend is OK.

-yawn-

Happy middle of the night to you too! Can't sleep and feeling a little woeful, but guessing that's tiredness for you!

Hoping a few games of solitaire will sort me out :)

feralgirl · 27/08/2011 09:15

Well done ssmile, huge congratulations. I'm knackered and hormonal and your lovely news has made me a bit weepy which is plain daft!

sebs71 · 27/08/2011 09:36

ssmile huge congratulations, excellent news!! How exciting to be the first. Hope you're enjoying lots of baby girl cuddles and feeling well.

Ummm iron tablets and curry - not a good match... Windy night Blush... good job dp thinks my lack of lady like behaviour is hilarious!!

Thought things might actually be starting last night (albeit slowly) with tonnes if pressure, big BH's and coming in waves. But calmed down by this morning, and now think it was bloating and BH's Blush sort of hoping will hang on now till Thursday for sept baby ... Although hearing ssmile's news does make you want it all to happen sooner.

TP and 100years hope you get a nap later to catch up... And you won those solitaire games!!

sebs71 · 27/08/2011 09:39

Not daft feral... Does make you feel bit weepy... :)

jimmijam · 27/08/2011 10:26

100years no worries, i knew what u meant in ur 1st post :-) still not heard back from them, will wait til mon pm and ring them up if i havent heard anything cuz its taking the pee a bit now.

all has died off now, bet i'll end up going 2 weeks over and giving birth or having cs as dh goes back 2 work after his 2 weeks hol (short staffed end sept so he's not allowed to take his paternity leave then)

ssmile congratulations !! ah bless, enjoy ur baby girl!!!!

i started a thread yesterday asking how others labours have started, wasnt expecting to get such a response! makes interesting reading....

jimmijam · 27/08/2011 10:39

have any of you tried clary sage oil? i'm going 2 pop out and get some later, figured it may be worth a try

Meerkat11 · 27/08/2011 11:44

Hello,
Well I've been lurking on this new thread for a while now, but it's so busy i doubt I'll manage to keep up - I check thread on my phone and can rarely be bothered trying to type messages on it (esp as I end up writing long ones each time!
Anyway, congrats ssmile great to hear about your baby girl - hope you recover well from the cs and you get home soon.
Not much to report at this end anyway - I'm having lots of BHs, and a reasonable amount of movement, seemed to have changed yesterday, but hoping baby is still not back to back, it's 2/5 engaged as of last Friday, so hoping it stays put and continues down.
Also haven't mentioned my home birth palaver - our NHS trust (if that's the right designation) has decided to withdraw home birth service and I was initially told I was not going to be allowed one after all (not that my mw was particularly keen in first place). They have now decided to honour my request, so I bought birth pool etc and we've been having a play with that. Just hope it all goes well and I get to use it - LO has another 3 weeks to turn up :).
According to other people I've spoken to, sex seems to be the main sure-fire way of inducing, although as someone else said here, that's only if baby's on its way anyway... I've started making my own raspberry leaf tea too, though not sure if I'm doing it right - that's for a 'power uterus' rather than getting things going anyway...
Right, sorry, I said I wrote too much. I shall shut up again now!
Hope you all enjoy your weekend and they're not filled with too much discomfort. Hope you all manage the now obligatory (ha!) afternoon nap :)

CBear6 · 27/08/2011 11:51

I've never tried it Jimmijam, what do you do with it?

I'm planning a long walk on the beach if this rain ever goes away. We live right near the coast and when I was pregnant with DS I went on a long walk along the sand with my mam and her dogs. Probably coincidence but I had a show the next day and went into labour a few hours later but my MW says she recommends either sand or stairs for her early labour ladies because the rolling/wobbly/rocking walking motion presses the baby down on the cervix so maybe there is something in it?

With DS my first signs were orangey discharge followed by an orange glob (ick), restlessness and a big surge in energy, and a huge increase in appetite/hunger - that last day I was eating for Britain but then as soon as my contractions started I had no appetite whatsoever.

CBear6 · 27/08/2011 11:55

That sounds really stressful Meerkat, last thing you need is your plans questioned at this late stage. Glad they've sorted it out now.

tiddleypompom · 27/08/2011 12:23

Zzzzz..... welcome along meerkat and I am glad that you haven't had to abandon your plans for a HB despite NHS preferences. CBear I would love a walk along the beach - but not much chance of that in B'ham! I guess the walk along the curb (one foot on, one foot off) works along the same lines? I did that on the way back from the butchers today! Either way, walks in general appear a Good Plan.
Just waiting for arrival of mates, with whom we are going out for lunch. They are ttc at the moment and I have everything crossed for them - seems to be a lot of 'it' about at the moment and I'm all for it! My SIL starts IVF this month after a long few years - my heart could break for them, and it has got a little difficult as she no longer wants to see me :( I can understand it but it does make me a little sad.
ANYWAY happy days ahead for team Sept - wishing you all eventful days (when in life do you find yourself wishing to excrete orangey coloured globs)?!!

tiddleypompom · 27/08/2011 12:23

p.s. meerkat I didn't mean 'zzz' about your post by the way!!!!! :o

feralgirl · 27/08/2011 14:09

Jimmi, I've just realised that you are a Discussion of the Day: the fame! Grin

MrsSawyer · 27/08/2011 14:15

Aww congrats ssmile, hope you're enjoying newborn snuggles! x

Misty9 · 27/08/2011 14:26

congrats ssmile, hope you're enjoying your baby girl and resting up :)

feeling really restless today - anyone else get like this? Bit irritable too Blush and we've got family visiting tomorrow and monday so I need to be sweetness and light by then :)

jimmijam · 27/08/2011 14:56

Ooh thats a good idea, may take kids 4 a walk along the beach in a day or 2, try get things moving.
Got raspberry leaf t (remember mw with ds telling me off 4 taking it 2 early and insisting i stop cuz it can bring on labour), got clary sage oil 2, got some burning and a few drops on my t-shirt-dont fancy walking about holding a tussue 2 my nose! Meant 2 bring on contractions, we'll c. I know nothing will make a difference unless babs ready anyway, but its keeping me occupied! :-)

BumpyHeffalumpy · 27/08/2011 15:06

Congratulations ssmile. So exciting to see that the first one has popped. Got the pool pumped up now, it's a regular birthing pool in a box but a lot bigger than I expected. I was hoping to have a single bed in the room as well, but not likely now as there has to be enough space around it for midwife to walk around the whole circumference. Been sleeping and eating a lot and am not capable of much else. Still waiting for nesty feelings to hit me but they don't seem to have come. The house is a mess as a plumber hasn't completed the central heating yet. Arrgh! Sorry for the rant, looking forward to more news about new babies.

xx

Jojo1983 · 27/08/2011 17:00

Congratulations ssmile! Such great news! Still got over three weeks to wait and counting down every day of it!
Not much to report today OH came home from hospital yesterday just in time for midwives which all went well. Slept for 12 hours last night am so amazed only woke up twice for a wee!
Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend.

feralgirl · 27/08/2011 18:02

I've got the regular pool in the box as well bumpy; it's a bit of a monster isn't it! We've decided we're going to have to do it in the kitchen as we'd have to move loads of furniture if we do it in the living room. It'll be easier to fill, empty and clean up in the kitchen anyway but I'm not sure how easy the MW is going to find it walking around the whole circumference of the thing!

Glad that I'm not the only one who's eating and sleeping and doing bugger all else!

Sewmuchtodo · 27/08/2011 19:00

Well done ssmile, what a fab weight. Can't wait to hear her name! Hope you are getting lots of rest. x

Well some good news here, it turns out my curry/night in the bath was not me being a big girls blouse after the indian, it was indeed the LO turning as confirmed on the presentation scan yesterday :)
I am now all set for a VE and Sweep on Wednesday followed by induction next Mon/Tue if cervix looks favourable.

I know what you all mean about getting up from lying down, I almost have to work up a rocking motion then one big push to get out of bed!

Does anyone else seem to be peeing out more than they are drinking in???
