KC got everything crossed for you! Sounds all good, thinking of you x

sprinkles77 · 03/12/2011 16:53

just popping in to catch up. keziah so pleased you're still doing well. That 6 months mark feels like such a milestone, and then there's the magic 28 weeks when I felt I could sort of stop holding my breath knowing that if something happened baby had an excellent chance. I've got my 12 week scan 2 weeks on monday, which is lovely, but hoping I get results of triple test so I can tell everyone our news over christmas. I'm not counting on it though!

boba82 · 04/12/2011 18:33

Yeah they take a week or so to come through I think sprinkles. They should get a good idea from nuchal measurement though. What a lovely Xmas surprise for your family! x

sprinkles77 · 04/12/2011 23:08

last time we collared a consultant in the corridor and asked her what she thought of the NT measurements. She said based on my age the risk was infintesimally small and to go ahead and tell! The official bloods did take a week, I just checked as I still have all the letters for appointments and results! Actually, this time we have already told both of our parents and siblings, and one other close friend, it's just the wider audience, and work, none of whom really need to know for a while.

KnackeredCow · 06/12/2011 09:24

Morning Ladies!

Just a quick update from me and how my IVF is progressing. Embryologist has just called. We have two top quality blasts at day 5! Hooray!!! One is going to be transferred later today, and one will go on ice.

There are also 2 average quality blasts at an earlier stage of development, which they may or may not freeze. It depends how they develop over the next few hours or so. They would have been OK for fresh transfer if that's all we'd had, but they don't think they are good enough to withstand cryo.

5th embryo hasn't quite made it to blast stage, and doesn't look so good, so they can't freeze this one.

Anyway, excited about transfer, but it also makes you think about how few conceptions are actually good enough to make it. We started with 12 eggs, of which 11 fertilised, but now down to 4 blasts, of which only 2 are really good quality. I'm amazed anybody ever gets pregnant with odds like that. Obviously, a petri dish isn't the best culture for an embryo so development may well be better in the right place, but even so this reproducing business seems like a game of Russian roulette!

xx

Keziahhopes · 06/12/2011 13:47

congrats KC 2 good quality blasts is fantastic, with 2 other "possibles". We got one blast from 4 fertilised eggs, so agree going to blast tends to reduce options, but the thinking is that they are the ones most likely to succeed. 3 possible frosties is amazing to think of - one definite good quality one is brilliant. Hope your ET and 2ww goes well for you.

boba82 · 06/12/2011 14:03

Good luck KC I really hope it's a sticky one.

I know what you mean the whole conception, pregnancy and birth is a bloody miracle! I look at Zach and still can't believe he came from me!

KnackeredCow · 06/12/2011 15:17

Thanks ladies Smile

ET went smoothly enough. Blast was graded 4Bb/a which apparently is really good. Only one blast was good enough for freezing (grade 4Ba). Sad Feel an emotional wreck now! Have sobbed most of afternoon, which is making it really difficult to concentrate on work. Will have to work super-hard tomorrow to make up for my pants concentration at the moment. Trying to write a business plan but brain feels like mush!

Now the agonising wait for pregnancy test in 9 days. Am crossing everything, especially legs as paranoid KCbean will fall out, even though I know that's impossible Grin

Hope everyone else is well. Didn't mean to hijack thread. Sorry Blush

Keziahhopes · 07/12/2011 18:30

KC having a 2nd blast in the freezer is amazing, especially of that quality. I only got one blast and that was used for ET and wasn't of that quality. If don't go to blast tend to have a few more chances of FET's but blasts are seen as the best chance of success - so that is amazing!

Hope it is sticky for you,

KnackeredCow · 08/12/2011 17:14

Thanks Keziah! My emotions are all over the place at the moment.

How's your pregnancy going?

How is everyone else? It's gone very quiet on here at the moment.

My DH got admitted into hospital with an appendicitis yesterday. Day after our ET. Can't believe the timing. He's still in on an IV antibiotics. It's just me an' the dog at the moment, who I'm allowing to break every house rule as I feel rather emotional. Hoping they discharge DH tomorrow.

boba82 · 08/12/2011 22:05

Sorry to hear about your DH KC. Just what you don't need right now. Keep as calm as you can though. x

I'm afraid I'm not in a great place right now. My mum is in hospital. We knew get cancer is terminal but thought we had another year or so. It has now spread to bones & liver so she has a few weeks at most. Personally I don't feel she will make it to Xmas (which is also her bday Sad) it is truly the worst time of my life and I can't imagine life without her. Having Zach here is so bittersweet atm. No one will ever live you like your mum & I'm terrified of losing mine Sad I'm sorry for the me me post ladies. x

Keziahhopes · 09/12/2011 01:15

KC - what horrible timing. However he is in the best place possible and when he is able to be at home he will be signed off work for a bit so can be with you.

Am afraid pregnancy is not good for hormones or distress either. Spend most of last 3 days in great distress, can't even verbalise it or ask for help. Not helped by my family having nothing to do with me for most of the year, and lots going on with that so stressful, they have totally cut me off. Have ended up hurting myself just to cope with emotions.

boba that is a horrible place for you to be in, so sorry to hear your news at such a time - post as much as you need to. glad you could share with us. No words can bring comfort I know but really hope the coming weeks are very special for you all.

boba82 · 09/12/2011 10:50

keziah why are your family having nothing to do with you?

Merry fu*&ing Christmas on this thread eh?! Xmas Wink Xmas Sad

Keziahhopes · 09/12/2011 11:43

Because since I have been pregnant I have refused to visit (2hrs and a bit away) as she smokes heavily, as does Dad, and I nearly always get an infection on return home and being pregnant means I don't want infections (already had 3 days in hospital for throat infection, been ill at home with 3 others!!) and she says it was ok for my nephew and family, etc etc. So they not seem me since pregnant, and will not even phone me, no Christmas presents from parents or sibling because I "don't deserve it and they have no money and I have lots" (uh how about 14 years of full-time work due to infertility meaning no family till now, whereas my SIL never worked full-time as got pregnant 3mths after meeting my sibling!!) Grrr....... I don't care about presents, but the odd phonecall in 6 months would help. Also we tend to "do" lots for them, which we are not doing as not there.

Cuddle your little boy boba and hope your family are happy to know your Mum has met him. I only knew one grandparent ever.

KnackeredCow · 09/12/2011 14:41

Boba I am so deeply sorry to hear about your mum. You must be devastated. I don't know what to say to you except that I really hope you can make the most of the precious time you have left together. My thoughts are with you.

Oh Keziah I can't believe how selfish your family are being. At a time when you need support, and don't wanted to be subjected to their cigarette smoke. Please look after yourself. It must be terribly hard, but try to resist hurting yourself. They are not worth it at the moment. You've more important things to think about. You must feel terribly isolated, but it's not your fault. I don't know what to suggest.

Why do these sorts of things always happen around Christmas?

Keziahhopes · 09/12/2011 20:39

KC hope dh recovering well.

After 3 weeks of feeling yuk found out have ear and sinus infections and am waiting for lab results to know how to treat - so got told to not work or do anything all weekend. Hard as can't take much when pregnant - but can do menthol steaming.

Hope all little babies enjoy their wrapping paper and new toys this Christmas!

boba82 · 11/12/2011 00:43

keziah maybe you're better off without them? They sound very petty and selfish and should not be stressing you out when you have this very much longed for pregnancy. I always have sinus trouble and found pregnancy & now bfeeding hard as can't take my beloved Sudafed! Hope you feel better soon hon. x
KC is your DH any better? How you feeling? Hope this wait to test isn't stressing you too much?
Thanks for your kind words and wishes ladies. It's good to vent on here. I'm surviving by trying to forget about it at the moment. Don't want time we have left to be sad.
On another note this little monkey is still growth spurting = no sleep for me!

BFP 13/12/11 Xmas Grin Xmas Grin Xmas Grin!!!!

Thought I'd add some good news to the thread Smile

Boba DH is recovering now, although got readmitted over weekend but now back home. And please vent as much as you want. It must be so hard for you at the moment.

KnackeredCow · 13/12/2011 17:59

Keziah Meant to say, are you feeling any better yet. It's really horrible have ear and sinus infections and not being able to treat must be driving you mad.

Keziahhopes · 13/12/2011 18:55

Wow KC that is amazing news, what a wonderful early Christmas present for you!! Am so thrilled that you have graduated from our old thread and got that bfp. Somehow I think having that slightly longer journey to get our bfp's make it even more special Xmas Grin

Well I just avoided being admitted to hospital last night, so no am still not well.

KnackeredCow · 13/12/2011 19:12

Keziah Poor you. Really hope you start feeling better soon. What a rotten time you're having. Thank goodness you didn't have to go in to hospital. Awful places having quite a bit of experience of them now with my DH (he got sent back with infection over weekend). Look after yourself and your bump!

Keziahhopes · 13/12/2011 19:33

KC - ended up being assessed on the labour ward, which was quite scary hearing people crying as they were assessed in a cubicle next to me in early labour!! My baby stopped moving for 2 days, due to my illness. Now on heavy duty antibiotics, week 3 (oh and thrush again - such joys you can now experience Xmas Grin).

KC hope Dh getting better quicker and that at least he has your good news to cheer him up as he recovers. He will be off work for a while now - so you can enjoy your time together over Christmas I hope!!!

all those with little babies this (first) Christmas - have you enjoyed buying your little ones presents? It is hard to think that this time next Christmas all of us with bfp's on this thread should hopefully have little ones too.

Oh - got pram bought us at weekend by inlaws (they chose - I was too ill to even protest) a Bugaboo Chameleon; was between that and Icandy Peach (my preferred option) but it was a very kind gift so am not complaining!

boba82 · 13/12/2011 20:13

Wow KC congratulations! Grin So pleased it worked for you. A little Christmas miracle!

Keziah oh God hon you are having a really crappy time aren't you?! Did you at least get a wee scan out of it? What a lovely gift - lots of people have the bugaboos so they must be really good. How many weeks are you now? x

boba82 · 13/12/2011 20:14

Oh and I meant to say Z slept through last night for the first time! It was amazing although feel its just a fluke. FX for tonight!

sprinkles77 · 13/12/2011 21:58

Boba, I remember the first time DS slept through. I woke in the morning in a total panic as he wasn't awake yet, fearing the worst!
