Thanks Chooster and everyone else for there kind wishes, you do all really have loads to look forward to!

Pjen are you still reading? I'd love an update on Sophia Rose Smile has anyone else given birth yet?

CheeseandGherkins · 15/11/2010 21:31

MrsS Hmm, re the losing weight, have you leaked at all? Maybe waters if so? Probably not but a possibility.

Miffster I think it'll probably be someone that isn't having any symptoms at all and a total surprise hehe.

WLL I'll be 35 weeks on Thursday so not quite ready yet but things will happen when they happen by now, I'll probably go to 42 weeks! Hope not but we'll see. Still getting tightenings so I'm hoping things are just starting to gear up a bit more.

Max she posted on her thread saying she's still pregnant but having more of a show and contractions so seems like it was slow labour like her last one I believe. Sympathies on the restless legs, I had that a while back and it was awful.

Chooster Sorry you're in such pain :( Mince pies aren't really hard at all tbh, just mix everything for the mince and leave it some weeks to mature and then make pastry when ready, fill and bake :o

Heartburn is getting annoying now, going through so many packs of Rennie which don't really last for long but at least taste OK. I do feel like things are slowly changing but who knows!

shocknews · 15/11/2010 22:52

Gosh, what a difference a day makes ! Yesterday I was a blubbering hormonal wreck and today I've been much better behaved ! Managed to waddle around the shops with DH and DD2, got a couple of Christmas presents too. Have now had a wonderful long soak in the bath (dh on nights) and will have bed to myself ..... BLISS !!
Hope all you other ladies manage a good nights sleep. Mine seem to be interrupted by me trying to roll over. I'm sure it must be quite amusing to watch but is really painful and leaves me out of puff !!

Mega impressed with the tandem feeding. People really don't appreciate how tricky it can be to bf let alone 2 together - my utmost respect !

Hope your window is now fixed and sealed safely, how awful could that have been if your Lo had leant on it.

Yes I am completely potty for contemplating doing. Christmas, but I'm still convinced its got to be easier here than carting my 3 dc's to stay at my mums, try to remember everything I need etcetc. At least here, if I get tired etc I can just go to bed ! My sister is coming to stay 2 days before and my mum and DH will prob do most actual cooking if I'm honest (and if I let them in my kitchen !).

Better head off to try to get a couple of hours sleep interspersed with wee trips, rolling routines and probable waking of one of my dd's (they only seem to it when DH on nights).

Ooh, nearly forgot, having my hair highlighted tomorrow, can't wait ! And manicure & pedicure Thursday !! Bet I go into labour overnight and miss it all !! XX

MrsSnaplegs · 16/11/2010 05:02

OK can't sleep (been up for a wee too often) so have fired up the netbook for a proper catch up!

C&G I don't think the weight loss is amniotic fluid, yes I have some "leaking" but I know it is due to poor pelvic floor muscles as opposed to anything else. I suspect the weight loss is because I am still being sick so my eating habits have changed again now I am able to live at home again! I also have acid reflux so getting through lots of rennies and gaviscon. I had only just made pre pregnancy weight so to lose 3 lbs in a week is a lot for me, I am going to be skin and bones again once I have delivered this baby and if I remember last time found it hard to keep weight on when BFing. At least I will be able to eat properly again!

Lavita Glad to hear you and the girls are getting on well - I have a huge amount of respect for you tandem feeding, I found it hard with 1 last time! Keep it up you are doing an amazing job!

chooster yes definately fed up of the is it/ isn't phase, even DH has said he can tell I've had enough now. I don't remember it being like this last time Hmm but then it was 5 years ago! Lots of signs this time I didn't have last time!

maxpower sorry you still have restless legs, have you tried running them under cold water - it helps me sometimes as I get them when not pg as well. Glad your appts are going well - hope it carries on that way Grin

wholelottalove good news about HB, I jokingly mentioned it to DH again the other day in front of DD - kind of explaining to her that Mummy may need to go to hospital anytime now to have the baby so if she got up in morning or came home from school and I wasn't there not to worry - I then said "you never know the baby might decide to come so quickly Daddy has to deliver him at home" (DH is a retired paramedic type) DH didn't seem overly phased by this - even suggested DD would be in charge of getting towels Grin

SlightlyTired · 16/11/2010 05:18

Morning MrsSL*, I can't sleep either, so it's a cup of tea and MN for me. It's freezing in my kitchen - must ring the heating man and get him to come and find out why only about half the radiators in this house work...

Sorry you're still being sick. I had that last time and it definitely doesn't enhance the whole pregnant experience. I don't have nausea now - just an insatiable need for cake, with predictable results. Blush Actually just woke up from a dream in which a friend sat me down and said that as I've put on a lot of weight, I might want to consider quite a structured dress for her Christmas party, since I won't be able to wear anything clingy. Confused I haven't actually put on very much and am usually pretty slim, and people say I don't look pregnant from the back, but I am clearly worrying about it if friends are being mean to me in my dreams!! I think it is because I am definitely slightly bigger than last time. Damn subconscious!

MrsSnaplegs · 16/11/2010 05:26

miffster my DH put the kiss of death on my sleeping last night - normally I am up 2-3 times to wee but have been getting back to sleep much better now I am back in my own bed. He commented he was impressed I was still sleeping with him Grin as this time last time I was pretty much permanently on the sofa - guess who can't now sleep Hmm

"crazykat" yes the stitch type pain is much lower than normal, takes my breath away and stops me from straightening up if I have been sat down. Glad you got some reassurance at the hospital - how many weeks are you now?

kellestar I am currently eating a very early breakfast of peanut butter sandwiches Grin I saw your other posts about MiL painting - I so felt for you, my (D)M did that to me last time - amongst other things - it drove me batty but remember it is one thing and you can fix it after baby is here, don't let it make you stressed Wink I am jealous of your homemade produce - I would normally have loads of stuff bottled and preserved by now but with all the hassle of the house have acheived the square root of nothing! Also my "new" kitchen is tiny - not enough room to swing a mouse let alone a cat!

slightly enjoy your mat leave - I still have 6 working days officially although I am supposed to be doing my handover this afternoon. I have a conference to go to on Friday which I am so not looking forward to Grin
notso my DD (5) sat down with argos catalogue Hmm and "wrote" a list for the baby of things she thought he might like - lots of things on the list seemed a bit old and pink for a baby boy!!

MrsSnaplegs · 16/11/2010 05:31

Morning slightly I am splitting my post otherwise it will be epic!!

I got a great dress for a function from Matalan of all places - as I was only wearing it once didn't want to spend a fortune on it Grin they have a maternity range and they are not "structured" but quite clingy in the right places, plain but looks nice with a throw etc.

MrsSnaplegs · 16/11/2010 05:36

matalan dress

SlightlyTired · 16/11/2010 05:44

Thanks MrsSL, that is a lovely dress. But I will actually have had the baby by Christmas (hopefully!! Due 2nd December) - hence my anxiety about looking half decent at Christmas time when none of my normal clothes fit! I think that realistically I will be giving most if not all functions a miss this year, but still have no idea what I will wear when bump is gone (ish) but new sized bum and thighs remain! Last time I had a spring baby so could get away with floaty skirts which hide a multitude of sins, but this time I think I am going to have to learn to love the tunic top until my Davina McCall DVDs start to kick in.

OK reading this back I realise I sound completely vain - I'm not, I promise - just having a girly body image wobble!

Lavitabellissima · 16/11/2010 05:45

I'm up at a stupid time too Smile

MrsS Have you spoken to your Dr about the acid reflux? I was being sick a lot as well and was put on Omeprazole, which really helped and is safe to take in pregnancy. I was still sik occasionally but not every day like before.

SlightlyTired · 16/11/2010 05:49

Morning Lavita! Jealous of you having early morning snuggles with your babies. Smile

MrsSnaplegs · 16/11/2010 05:53

kittybump how was your meeting with your friend? hope you bloomed!! any news on the labour predicting device? I think it should involve pets! my dog can spot a pregnant woman from about 4-5 weeks and currently she and the cats are like my shadows, thats part of the reason I think I'm brewing early. DHs cat who is normally the most antisocial barsteward ever has taken to sitting on my lap, allowing me to brush him and sleeping on the bed! In the 6+ years he has lived with us he has never done that!

DF when do you finish work? can't be long now!

93pjb thanks for remembering me, I had been lurking but not posting over weekend. lack of proper internet is a real pain and it doesn't look like we will have it soon. Sky sorted main TV on day we moved in, multiroom still not fixed (my treat to myself for this pregnancy and so Dh can watch cricket downstairs) and won't be until next week, phone line sorted last Friday but only 1 line so we now need to pay again for a separate engineer to run other cables as all the ones we thought were in house were cut Angry this means when broadband is sorted on Thursday we have no line to fit it to. A bit annoyed with sky as changed to an all in one package with them on moving as it was cheaper, paid for the line connection and everything but their small print states any internal lines are our responsibility however we didn't realise they had all been cut!!

MrsSnaplegs · 16/11/2010 05:57

lavita thanks for the tip on omeprazole -I was on it before being pregnant because of other pain meds I had to take. Stopped everything when discovered I was pg (bit of a surprise!) and so have some still in cupboard, will restart I think as this late in pg won't harm anyway. Will check with consultant tomorrow Grin

crazykat · 16/11/2010 08:35

37 weeks today and going nuts. Thankfully baby moved around a lot more yesterday evening, it felt like she was headbutting my cervix though and hurt like hell. I've been up half the might too as I just couldn't seem to sleep linger than half an hour, and I haven't been able to sit still this morning so was ironing at half six (not like me I hate ironing).

I hope something definite happens soon as it's getting on my nerves thinking this is it for it to be nothing. It was so much easier first time round as I hadn't a clue what to expect so wasn't constantly over-analysing every little twinge and kick.

MrsSL your DD sounds so cute, are you feeling any better today?

Sorry about the heartburn C&G up until a few days ago I had it really bad and nothing helped.

Wholelottalove · 16/11/2010 08:37

Hmm MrsS my cat is driving me crazy; he's like my shadow at the moment. I would love to be early (not too early obviously) but I know statistically speaking I am likely to be late.

Sorry for those up early. I actually had a really good night and only woke up once. I think I had been worried about the MW visit yesterday.

My Mum is home for a while so I think we are going out for brunch before she goes back abroad for a couple of weeks. Hope I don't go into labour whilst she is away as she'll be gutted.

lavita glad things are going well for you. Do you feed the babies at the same time or do they wake and feed at different times?

slightly I am trying not to worry about weight but I know I am bigger than last time. I'm hoping the BF will make it all magically drop off.

CheeseandGherkins · 16/11/2010 09:08

Morning all, freezing here this morning. Heartburn is bad again today. My BH's are getting quite uncomfortable now, have to see what happens with them.

MrsS I was the opposite with bf, I put on more weight with my last pregnancy and didn't shift it (probably put more on) until I'd been bf for ages. Must be awful still being and feeling sick :( Really love that dress.

Slightly ooh cake, there's a lovely cake shop in Cambridge :o I love crumpets with butter on and fancy some now! Even better is loads of butter, marmite and then cheese on top, yummy.

Lavita Can't wait to be in your shoes :)

crazy hope you manage to get comfortable soon, seems like loads of us are all up early, maybe it's a sign??!

wLL our cats are a lot more sociable than usual, they're lovely cats anyway but stay out a lot definitely not lap cats but recently have been very odd and clingy hehe. Enjoy brunch with your Mum.

KittyBump · 16/11/2010 14:05

Hiya!

MrsSL thanks for asking - day out was lovely but my pg friend is really suffering, she says just moving her arms and legs is an effort and she is in bed most of the time but each time she tells GP/MW they just say yes you will be tired you're pg! If only there was some way of convincing them this is beyond normal pg tiredness :(

I asked my other friend about predicting labour - she wasn't much help :) she said that on QI they said that if you inject a frog with pg woman's urine the frog will ovulate!? Hmm not sure how this helps!

As i've mentioned before my cat is permanantly on my bump hence the name :)she used to love DH more - probably as pre pg he was always the warmest out of the two of us, he gets quite cross with her showing him no attention whatsoever now :)

Had my 36 week MW appt today, same old same old though they measured me at 34 weeks which is a bit worrying, I know its not the most accurate test in the world, especially as they just shuffled me around a bit and said ok now its 35.5 - that'll do Hmm

Also another yoga lady had her baby on Sat but...... they had to transfer her to another hospital as Worcester was full Shock they promise this never happens!

hello to all the early birds, I was awake too I listened to the Natal CD for a bit then fell asleep on the couch despite still being able to hear DH snoring through the ceiling Angry after i had about one hours sleep my alarm started going off upstairs which DH still slept through Angry so I had to get up again and go and kill him turn the alarm off :)

Sorry to everyone feeling fed up, and those still feeling sick :( no danger of weight loss here I'm a right heffer! And... I have a wedding to go to on Dec 17th (EDD 12th). Assuming I make it to the wedding I may well turn up wearing one of those blankets with sleeves Grin

MrsSnaplegs · 16/11/2010 15:08

kittybump I had heard the frog thing before that your friend mentioned. Sorry to hear your other friend is suffering so much. I have CFS so I know how hard that complete exhaustion can be, was she ill before pregnancy at all?

KittyBump · 16/11/2010 16:41

welll.. not really but she had been stressed out with quite a few different things and she does has arthritis - not sure if this would have caused the pain she was in?

crazykat · 16/11/2010 17:06

KittyBump I can sympathise with the snoring, I had a bad night last night and just when I was finally falling asleep DH started snoring like a freight train and woke me up. It took five minutes of kicking nudging him to get him to stop.

I found out today that the hospital I was going to be delivering at has a new MLU. I'm hoping to get booked in there since my local MLU is shut til January. It still means a half hour trip to get there but I'll be able to go home sooner as they don't keep you in overnight once baby is born unless there's a problem in which case I'd have been transferred to the main hospital anyway.

laurenamium · 16/11/2010 18:11

Shock at your window cheryl have you got it sorted yet?

38 weeks tommorow and I think Ive gone a but loony...I went out of my way to go to toys r us baby section today and bought a nappy stacker Blush I cant believe Im succumbing to the random unecessary nursery items that I laughed at when I first got pregnant! It looks pretty on the wall though!

laurenamium · 16/11/2010 18:12

oOOOooo goodness I missed a WHOLE page of posts!Sorry cheryl if you have updated the window thing!

MrsSnaplegs · 16/11/2010 18:12

kittybump not sure about arthritis pain in pregnancy but I know my pain levels have changed - ligaments relaxing has meant no pain in places I had it previously but pain in other areas. The pain can be exhasuting so this may be what is affecting her. It may be worth her trying some non medicinal techniques eg massage, relaxation techniques or ask to be referred to a physio for some management techniques.

bettyblue77 · 16/11/2010 18:18

Hey ladies, I'm new to posting on this site, although I apparently 'lurk' regularly! Is anyone else really really nervous about being a parent? I feel like it's all so uncertain and will I be any good at it and how the heck do you manage your pre-life now? Any thoughts??? Also, Cheryl, if you're still checking, I am suffering with panic attacks too, which is awful. Perhaps we could chat sometime.

japhrimel · 16/11/2010 18:20

KittyBump - I'd encourage your friend to get a second opinion and insist on blood tests to check for anaemia and vitamin D deficiency at the very least.
