Oliveoil has sprung a BIG leak!

Baby Alice Rose arrived on Friday 27 August at 8.04am weighing in at 9lb 5.

Fast and furious delivery - waters broke at midnight, in hospital for 3am, fully dilated at 6am and born 2 hours later.

However, I don't do things straightforward and my contractions stopped and I had to have a vontouse (sp?) and epistiotomy (sp???), due to my previous section they didn't want me to labour too long.

All this on only gas and air, much to my disgust as my wails for a 'f**king epidural' could be heard bouncing off walls!

xxxxxxxx

Congrats Oliveoil and well done on the vbac - sounds like little Alice was determined to arrive with a bit of drama! Hope you're not too sore.

NomDePlume · 06/09/2004 11:57

Thanks for the lovely messages, I needed cheering up, finding this new baby lark very hard with a toddler as well, been very weepy and fed up but have told myself that by the time September is over she will be sleeping as required, ha ha.

Have thrown my Gina Ford book at the wall and dh is threatening divorce if I read 'any more of that shit', have decided to go with the flow and give myself a break, she is not even 3 weeks old FFS.

Recovery was excellent from the birth, LOADS better than a section, and Alice has been feeding all the time so I am back in my jeans . Stomach looks like a road map however and like that crepey paper you wrap presents with but never mind.

xx

. I'm never ever going to get back into my pre-preg jeans, EVER.

Pidge · 15/09/2004 12:09

Missed this first time round due to being on hols. Congratulations! Sounds like you're doing brilliantly. My most vivid memory of the first 3 weeks is drifting around in my dressing gown weeping, and being visited by a friend of dp's who was obviously making a mental note never to have children! Hurling books at walls is great therapy!

Northerner · 15/09/2004 12:10

Oh Bless you OliveOil. I remember how crappy I felt in those first few weeks and I didn't have a toddler to deal with, so I feel for you.

Back in your jeans already Jelly belly will go soon, at least it's getting colder so you can hide it under big jumpers!

ROFL at dh referring to Gina as a load of shit!!!

Chin up luv, and stay around on MN, we'll give you a giggle.

oliveoil · 15/09/2004 12:10

Did I mention they were size 12? heh heh heh.

My fat little bundle is falling asleep again so I am going to have to go and poke her awake so she will hopefully sleep tonight - she is a vampire child. Will be back in a bit, hopefully.

oh oliveoil, those memories of sleepy chubby baby full of milk fade ever so fast..i'm really feeling nostalgic for all that

Twinkie · 16/09/2004 10:45

Congrats OO - lovely name - sorry I have not seen this earlier!!

Glad it wasnt horrific for you and DD was born good and healthy!!

But I hate you for being back in your jeans and will post regardless of whether I am or not that I am back in my size 8s within moments of birth (not that I am smaller than a 10 usually but you will make me feel a failure!! )

Nimme · 16/09/2004 11:20

Olive - how dare you be back in jeans - and worse brag about it on here where pregnant women (like myself) can see and feel guilty before even popping!!

Sounds like all is fine with you, vampire Alice will turn into Angel Alice shortly - so keep milking.
