Did you do a gender reveal? How did you do it?

My OH has paid for the early scan as an anniversary present next week and we don't know how to reveal it to our families

I did a sex reveal. I said 'its a boy'. Easy.

I told my Mam on the phone on the way home from the scan. Dh told his the next weekend. If anyone else asked we revealed the gender by telling them we were having a girl.

We went out for a meal with close family for my bday. Got everyone to make bets then cut the cake (had pink centre)

A girl probably, the sonographer couldn't get a good view but is fairly sure

We were originally just gonna tell them the simple way but because mostly everyone will be at my mums for tea we wanna do a cake or similar.

Kudos to the ones who waited until birth, I'm not that patient Smile

When I was pregnant with my twins we had a family dinner the evening we had found out and wrapped up two boxes in white paper and my mum and my dad opened one each with a baby grow in each Smile

DH and I gave our mums a Christmas present and they opened them in front of everyone. They didn't know what was inside, which was a pink baby outfit.

We had a box decorated and filled with pink balloons. Our parents opened the box and balloons flew out. It was actually a lovely day.

Not sure if you have already done this now Op, but I tried to bake a blue cake. It failed miserably (used to be such a good baker as well 😩) so I filled 3 balloons with blue confetti instead and let my nieces and nephew burst them at a family bbq Smile

Yes, the baby was born, we had a look at the relevant bits and saw that it was a girl. Then I cried and DH phoned the rellies.

No way sounds hideous. Just tell people the sex of the baby (when you are ready to do so). The later the better as far as I am concerned to avoid gender-stereotyping creeping in even before the baby is born. If I had my time again I would not reveal my baby's sex until they were old enough to go to school (assuming their name wasn't a give-away) if only to avoid getting to a point where I could no longer look at pink/blue stuff without feeling ill.

I was going to do a gender reveal party but I wasn't going to know the sex myself.
I would have got the sonographer to write the sex on a piece of paper, put in an envelope and give to a friend who would make a cake, the buttercream would be pink or blue. I didn't go through with it in the end due to a fall out with friends. Currently, 21 weeks and we're having boy!

I did a party for my sister, the sonographer wrote it on party and we had a family bash.
Filled balloons with yellow confetti, burst by throwing darts. This was a laugh she was annoyed at the end but built up the suspense, did the coloured balloons in box but they were all black, eventually gave in and let her pop the black ballooons and they were filled with blue confetti.
It was really good as built the atmosphere throughout the day.

Each and to their own. Every one is different. I wasn’t too bothered about a big reveal thingy with loads of friend but my family wanted me to do it with them all together.
It happened to be my birthday the day we found out so we’re at my mums with my sisters and brothers anyway.
I gave my niece, who’s 6, a pair of little green and blue booties which she put behind her back and walked into the living room where everyone was waiting.
She then pulled them out behind her back. Everyone screamed. It was actually really lovely and so nice to include the only other grandchild in the experience. X

My wife did it with a cake. If it comes blue then it's a boy and pink if it's a girl.

We had our friend make a nice cake for us, and when we cut it open at a 'gender reveal party' (although you could just do it at a family gathering) loads of pink smarties came flowing out, revealing a girl.
