Hello everybody,

Sebastian Edward was born last night, 7.34 pm, weighing 10 lb 4 1/2 !!!

First impressions are that he is FINE, thank God. Both dh and I think that he looks as if he might have achondroplasia, which would be fantastic news. He's been feeding beautifully already, and he can cry very well, so I'm happy to say that his lungs are working well at the moment.

I'm not completely relaxed yet because our biggest fear, Jeune syndrome, can't be excluded yet - symptoms of this condition can sometimes start when the child is already weeks, months or even years old. But atm things are looking very, very good and we are relieved and happy.

Thank you all so much again for thinking of me and for giving me all your support through this difficult pregnancy - it's been invaluable, it really has.

Love you all! XXXX

Another one crying here, I am just so happy for you all.

You must tell Sebastian Edward when he is older, that he is a global baby, and that scores of women who have never met his mum or him, cryed like loons when he was born.

10 lb 4 1/2 !!!
That will be the icecream then...... Grin

Brilliant Emkana... do try to relax and enjoy him now... there isn't much you can do I guess about a future diagnosis....
Lovely name for a big boy :-)

You don't say if the brith went well???? I know the outcome was most stressful!
