I started a thread about him being in icu.Anyhow, after battling away (they decreased his sedation enough for him to smile at ds and to tell us stuff,a bit, from what we could understand through lipreading as he had a trachy in) he had a big bleed yesterday and sadly nothing could be done.I managed to get him to see the children before he died and he was aw2arev as he smiled at them, and I amgladn he was able to do this.he died very peacefully 3 hours later bafter they had taken him off the ventilator, thankfully free from pain.RIP SWEEHHEART.,,A,

I am so sorry for your loss
I don't know what to say but you are definitely in my thoughts

Evenstar · 10/06/2010 09:44

I lost my DH almost 2 years ago and I know that there are no words to bring you any real comfort at this time, but it does help to know that people are wishing you well and keeping you in their thoughts which of course I shall be doing. I would second Retiredgoth's recommendation of the WAY foundation, it has been an enormous support to me and my family and I have made some wonderful friends through it. Wishing you strength for the coming days x
