Lovely thread.

Happy Father's day dad it's been nearly 18 years but I still miss you alot. Hope you are happy and with my mum.

xxxxx

Just re-read my post and think it doesn't say anything about how much I miss my dad. Coping with his absence has got easier over time but I miss and think about him every day.

onlyjoking9329 · 20/06/2009 00:04

Thinking of all those who wont be able to be with their dads in person.
this will be the first time our 3 kids wont have their dad with them for fathers day, it is hard for them.

wrinklytum · 20/06/2009 00:11

2 Shoes and everyone who has lost their dad/loved one thinking of youx.

lizziemun · 20/06/2009 08:28

This will be my first father day with out dad. he died in Jan.

I shall be listening to this. Which he chose to have playing when the curtains closed, because he didn't beleive in the afterlife.

LilRedWG · 20/06/2009 09:38

OJ - give those three a special big hug from me on Sunday! I am sure that their Dad, like mine, is looking down and smiling. xxxxx

whispywhisp · 20/06/2009 13:10

I did this exact same thread last year for Father's Day. It was amazing to get the number of posts it rec'd....I did it specifically for those Dad's we'd all lost but it was lovely to see Grandad's getting a mention too....plus Uncles, brothers, nephews etc etc.

OJ, huge hugs to your DC for tomorrow. I know a few of us are suffering the loss of our dads but we are adults and we can understand if that makes sense.

TPP, I can't decide whether to do the flowers on grave thing tomorrow or whether I should avoid it as it will still be all dug up from when mum was buried with dad on Monday.
Might take the DCs to Chessington to try to distract us all

I will be taking my son to hid dads grave this morning to put a card on and a picture of a bottle of wine as that was one of his most favourite things. I wont be going to my fathers grave as i have a lot to resolve in my mind to do with my father, when he died I received a letter six months after he died which was vicious and unpleasent underlining the reasons as to why he did what he did with his will. He completly ruined any happy memories i had of him from growing up which is devastating!

lottiejenkins · 21/06/2009 17:33

Apologies if i have "killed" this thread......... It wasnt my intention to do that!!

LilRedWG · 21/06/2009 18:40

Love to you all today. We have spent the day out with DD and tried to focus on her. Of course it has been difficult but I've got through today and hope that you are all faring okay.

LilRedWG · 21/06/2009 18:40

Lottie - much love to you. You have not killed the thread at all. I hope you are okay. x

NancysGarden · 21/06/2009 19:19

Hi everyone - visited Dad's grave today with LO and others. So...Happy Fathers' Day Dad - still doesn't seem real. We've no plaque yet - (it's a lawn cemetery hence no headstones) so had to do a bit of guess work with the plot numbers. Well, we were there. I took a pine cone from the tree next to Dad which is now on the mantelpiece with his picture.

Good to "see" you all, lots of love to you all and wishing you all strength today and all the days to come.

Nancy

NancysGarden · 21/06/2009 19:20

(And thanks for the thoughtful thread)

It isn't Fathers Day in Australia (where my dad lived) but I have thought of him all day today . It has been incredibly difficult.

Happy Fathers Day Dad, I miss you so much xxx

LilRedWG · 18/06/2010 21:42

Still missing you Dad. You are the best in the world and I will never stop missing you.

I love you - Happy Father's Day. xxxxx

vixma · 18/06/2010 21:58
