Hi yorkiegirl, i've just read your thread, sorry for the horrible day you must hacve had regarding having to visit your dh's grave

I do think an ornamental cabbage sounds fantastic, though! Will your dh be appraciating all the shocked looks and the talking point he'll become? His resting place will probably be geting lots of admiring or puzzled glances!!

Don't florists sell thse funky looking not flowery things that look like veg (i don't know what they are or if they even are veg?) which you could take as a bouquet with you?

Your dh is probably very proud that you've done this for him xxx

I'm not being flippant, please believe me, but what about some alliums (bulbs) that will come up in the spring? i believe they belong to the onion family so your dh is bound to like those!

Oh blimey Yorkiegirl, I feel on your behalf. As if you and your dds weren't going through enough at the time, I mean, who did your BIL think had planted the heathers in the first place?? I am sorry, I don't want to rake over the past, forgive me for bringing it up again. Families eh? You can always rely on them to bring you down sometimes. Glad you got it sorted though in the end.

Thinking of you and the DD's Yorkiegirl, these special days are so hard aren't they with all the memories of other years. I have been up to the church this afternoon too with fresh flowers, no special occasion I usually go once a week. Sometimes it is comforting other times the reverse, but I feel closer to DH there. Hope that today gave you a little comfort as well as pain, what a wonderful idea to put him a cabbage, it is so personal to him.
