thinking of you Steve on our first anniversary apart.

thinking of your smiling face
four long weeks we've been apart
taken from my arms
memories stay in my heart.

We have trifle. On the menu
we will be sure to raise a spoon
to a much loved kind & gentle man
who was sadly taken away too soon.

I have a lump in my throat as hadn't been on Mumsnet for ages and I remember all you were going through last time I was here when I posted to you as my MIL had same tumour and was going to the US for treatment (she died peacefully 2 weeks ago and made it home first).
You wrote a beautiful poem and I will drink a big glass of wine to toast your anniversary and love for Steve xxxx

oj, just wanted to say well done for getting through this difficult day in such a lovely way. It is great that you are keeping your chin up and have dealt with it in such a postive and inspiring way. Well done! Btw we have/had been married 12 years and together for 18.
