thinking of your smiling face
four long weeks we've been apart
taken from my arms
memories stay in my heart.

We have trifle. On the menu
we will be sure to raise a spoon
to a much loved kind & gentle man
who was sadly taken away too soon.

The day went better than i thought it would
Tracey asked me what i wanted to do, i decided that i would go to the garden centre, this isn't any old garden centre this is a lovely place that does a lovely carvery and a fab gift shop. Steve and i went there often.
this time last year steve and i went and we saw a beautiful and unusual coffee table, we both spotted it at the same time and loved it, we didn't but it at the time cos we were in the small car so no room, when i went back in december, the table had gone
so today tracey and her DD and me and elliot walked in the gift shop and there is was, the beautiful coffee table
it looks perfect in our conservatery and i know Steve would be very happy. i could amsot hear him say happy anniversary love.
we got some large tubs for the two roses bushes, i couldn't make my mind up where to plant them so tubs seemed a good idea i can move them about if i like.
i have sat out in the garden with a glass of wine and thought how lucky we were to have had the time we did have and the love that we shared.
Tracey brought elliot a very lovely sheep soft toy/ doorstop for his bedroom as a well done on getting an award pressie.
the girls went out with their respite family which was fab cos forst time i have been able to get them to go anywhere other than school and traceys house, they were pleased as they brought a dvd each and some sweets.
i feel quite peaceful tonight much better than the turmoil of this morning, thankyou all for walking beside me.

OJ so glad you have got through today with a smile and today has been 'good' for you.
How funny about the table. You have a lovely friend there to be cherished and so glad the dc's have felt comfortable enough to spend some time away!
No saying more true than 'better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all'

differentID · 12/07/2008 20:01

(Are you psychic? )

MatNanPlus · 12/07/2008 21:53

Really glad the day went well and that your coffee table was there for you today

callmeovercautious · 12/07/2008 21:58

OJ - I am so glad you found that table. I really believe that every now and then a little message sneaks through from the other side. It keeps me believing that we will meet our departed loved ones again.

Happy Anniversary I say that as you should celebrate it, you deserve to and Steve would want you to (your earlier post seemed unsure). You have been Married to Steve for 11 years. You are eternally connected X

I bought trifle today, not a usual thing in our house but Waitrose were out of cheesecake. See fate

CasperGhost · 12/07/2008 22:02

onlyjoking9329 · 12/07/2008 22:03

crap DWP paperwork i can try it on the kids, what do you think?
the kids are all excited cos i am told it is only 5 sleeps until our holiday.

OP posts:
cheesesarnie · 12/07/2008 22:07

oj-love to you.

WendyWeber · 12/07/2008 22:12

Oh yes, do try it on the kids, excellent plan!

I haven't heard it myself, I just went by the reviews on amazon which were 100% enthusiastic about how relaxing & lovely it is so I hope when you do get a chance to play it in peace it works on you too. (You'll have to have it very quiet though, it's astonishing how loud things can sound in the middle of the night)
