Just having a discussion with my partner as I have no idea. What would you have for your funeral songs?

Good Night Travel Well by the Killers.

I would rather not have a funeral but as I will be dead I am aware I might not have much say in the matter.

I've already told DH I want "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" by Green Day and "You're Dead" by Alkaline Trio. I may have a slightly dark sense of humour at times.

The Lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem

I chose this for my mother. She had stipulated something classical of my choice, Schubert's Ave Maria, Run , Snow patrol and It's a wonderful life, Black. I cannot listen to any of them without welling up.

Abide with me. It's so suitably weepy. And that American one Shall we gather at the river is quite nice. And uplifting.

We had Abide with me at my DM's funeral; it was her favourite hymn

I'm not having a funeral, which is probably just as well. When I was much younger I used to tell my DM I just wanted all my favourite songs played - and no actual funeral service. However, the list kept getting longer and changing all the time.

My friend told me years ago he wanted Stairway to Heaven (which was on my list), and it was played at his memorial service a couple of months ago.

Counting Crows, Holiday in Spain.

My uncle planned his and had 'always look on the bright side of life' as his coffin entered the church.

Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter playing as everyone arrives (I'm a huge HP fan), then my favourite songs - Guns n Roses Don't Cry, Bon Jovi's version of Hallelujah, REM Find the River and Ed Sheeran featuring Luke Combs Life goes on, then Green Day Good Riddance (Time of your life) as the curtains close.

Dancing in the sky by Danni and Lizzy

Always make me smile and cry.

Tell me, what does it look like in heaven?
Is it peaceful? Is it free like they say?
Does the sun shine bright forever?
Have your fears and your pain gone away?
'Cause here on Earth, it feels like everything
Good is missing since you left
And here on Earth, everything's different
There's an emptiness
Oh-oh, I
I hope you're dancing in the sky
I hope you're singing in the angel's choir
And I hope the angels know what they have
I'll bet it's so nice up in Heaven since you arrived
So tell me, what do you do up in Heaven?
Are your days filled with love and light?
Is there music? Is there art and adventure?
Tell me, are you happy? Are you more alive?
'Cause here on Earth, it feels like everything
Good is missing since you left
And here on Earth, everything's different
There's an emptiness
Oh-oh, I
I hope you're dancing in the sky
And I hope you're singing in the angel's choir
And I hope the angels know what they have
I'll bet it's so nice up in Heaven since you arrived
I hope you're dancing in the sky
And I hope you're singing in the angel's choir
And I hope the angels know what they have
I'll bet it's so nice up in Heaven since you arrived
Since you arrived

Plus Don't Stop Me Now by Queen

I really can't bear Abide with Me. Unless it is really sung well, it just sounds like a dirge.
We aren't religious, for my husband's cremation service we had 'Walk of Life' by Dire Straits (a favourite of his) then a slide show of happy memories to 'Hold on to the Memories ' by Disturbed.
My cousin had 'The Light at the End of the Tunnel, is the Light of the Oncoming Train' by Limp Biscuit - chosen by himself!

I don’t want to ruin a good song for my loved ones if they end up not being able to hear it without thinking of my death/funeral.

A boy in my class at school died of leukemia at fifteen. His funeral was the saddest thing I’d ever experienced. The songs “Sail Away” by David Gray and “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias were played and I can’t hear them without crying. His mother’s strength 💔

”Winter howlin' at my face
And everythin' I held so dear
Disappeared without a trace”

My friend died recently and her sons carried her coffin into the church to Three Times a Lady by the Commodores.

I am not having a funeral, I am having a private cremation and my ashes scattered on the beach by my house to Les McKeown's song Goodbye.
