I don't even know why I am typing this - I just need to u burden myself.

My lovely dad was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2018 and were told with therapy he should last 10 years. His scan last year was no change.

He has had symptoms last couple of months and we've now been told his cancer is advanced and his liver is more tumours than liver and now his bowel is compromised.

We have been told he has days left. He doesn't t know as when he was told nothing could be done he went into shock. He is such a wonderful man and encouraged me my whole life. He is kind, thought and wouldn't hurt anyone.

Me and my mum are devastated and my son is 8 and loves him so much. It's not fair and I don't know how to cope

So sorry to hear this. I lost my mum fer too young suddenly to a rare chemo reaction. Like you I had thought we were looking at limited time but not so suddenly. It’s such a shock. I felt like I was in a film and it couldn’t be happening.

I cried to my mum how would I cope without her as she was my best friend, she said it gets better - knowing from losing her own mum - and it does. The feeling of being robbed does not leave you especially with grandchildren but you get stronger over time.

You will find the strength to get through this and you will come out the other side. Sending hugs.

It is so awful, so sorry you have been through this and for what you’re going through now. Something we have to learn to deal with, but none of us want to of course. RIP your Dad xx

Thank you for your kind words, it's all very raw. He fought so hard. I just hope he knew how much we all love him
