Our son James was born on 28 Apr 2007, he sadly passed away on 11 Sep 2007, in our arms at Robin House ( Children's Hospice).
James was born with a rare genetic condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa, he had the most severe form of EB and was fatal in infancy.
James skin was as fragile as butterfly wings, his skin broke at even the slightest touch, causing painful open blisters and wounds, the blistering was not limited to his skin, but also affected his inner body linings, such as his mouth and oesophagus. James was a very brave wee boy, he was a son we have always been proud of and it has been a privilege to be his parents. In loving memory of our son James Terrence Lynch ( Jim Jim ), we are going to do the Great Scottish Walk on 11 May 2008 in Glasgow, please support us by visiting our fundraising website www.justgiving.com/jim_jim, thank you very much!

What a gorgeous little boy, you are so lucky to have been blessed with him, even if it was only for a short time. I am so sorry for your loss.

Good luck with your walk.

Vio, I can't begin to imagine what you have gone through. I just read your beautiful letter to Jim Jim. You are an amazing woman and an incredible mother. And Jim Jim is a gorgeous little boy. Even though he is gone, it is clear he lives in you and in your love for him.

Good luck with the walk. xx xx

Hi Vio,

Good luck for the walk.

Its very strange but I am also doing a walk in memory of my son Toby who died in August 07. He had a rare brain disorder which meant he was unable to do anything for himself.

Our walk is also on 11th May..... how odd is that??? We are doing ours for the charity that has helped us so much with Toby and still now with councilling. We are also doing the London to Brighton bnike ride in june (54 miles)! Ouch!

I hope you are getting through life ok its always hard and we miss our little ones each and every moment of every day.

Take care x

Thank you so much everyone. Jbadgirl, good to hear that you are also doing the walk in memory of your boy Toby. I have read about him, I think from gonetoosoon? if not, its somewhere. I've got a friend whose got a son with Krabbe disease, we met at Robin House, its a type of genetic disorder and he is still fighting.

Again, thanks everyone, we have a lot of good people with big hearts here. Amazing!
