DM just died, Mother’s Day hell

My lovely lovely mum died two days ago and I’m stuck in this hell and when I tried to venture out I’m hit with Mother’s Day hell. I wrote out my mums card because I already bought it and I will put it on her window sill like I always did.
This feels so unbearable. We were so close.

I'm so sorry OP. My mother died almost a decade ago as of yesterday, and I remember how it felt to see all the advertising and words everywhere. They felt taunting. It does get easier over time though.

So sorry for your loss. I lost DM just over a week before her birthday and I already had her card and present, so I took them to her on her birthday and she was cremated with them.

I’m sorry OP - I lost my mum a while ago and Mothering Sunday is still quite hard. But I can’t believe how hard it must be if it is so immediate ☹️ - big hugs 💐

I did similar. My mum died on her birthday nearly 9 years ago. Mothers Day was a few days after. I'd already bought and written a card so I had it put in her coffin.

I lost my mum over 20 years ago and I still find staying off social media and away from the shops helpful.

Gosh I hadn’t even thought about social media tomorrow. Not that I go on much but I didn’t put a post about my mum and funeral details so I read them. Better stay clear tomorrow.

My dad died on the 5th March and my mum on the 13th... tomorrow is going to be hard xxx

Sorry your Mum died. I know it will be hard for you every year. My Dad died on my sister's birthday years ago now, and my sister told me recently she has never had a happy birthday since as she always thinks of Dad. Life is hard sometimes just try to remember you had a good close relationship. You can look back fondly of your Mum.

I was in your position last year. I'm so sorry, it's crap. Take care of yourself and do whatever you need to get you through the day

I lost my Mum 3 weeks ago and buried her on Friday. Was just her and me growing up until I had my kids so I’m a little bit lost at the moment.
I’m sorry that I don’t have any advice for you as it’s still so raw for me but wanted to reach out and give you a big virtual hug 🤗

Just get through today and then it will be over.
Stay off social media and stay away from places that people might take their mums to. Last year I treated myself to a Costa and I didn't come across too many mums .

Sorry for your loss. I would have been in a right mess if it had been so close to mothers day. My mum died three months ago but I am strangely ok so far.
