It should be my dd1's 10th birthday today, she was born at 26 weeks and died at 3 days old. Feeling sad tonight, meant to do something nice but it didn't happen. Anyway just wanted to post here to acknowledge it because nobody has I usually get a call from my mum but I haven't, maybe she just doesn't want to make me sad. Dp hasn't mentioned her either, but I know he will be thinking of her, we just can't get the words out (or don't want to in case we upset ourselves) We have 3 more children now and they know about her to an extent, we have her picture and hospital things in our room....
anyway feeling bit better now I've got it down, have had a little cry, think it was needed. I'm sure all the above is normal..

MaureenMLove · 12/01/2008 23:13

Happy birthday dd. I can't imagine what that feels like, although I have lost two to ectopic. Nowhere near the same pain though. Look after yourself and give dh a special knowing hug tonight. x

i dont know what to say really except time doesnt heal deep wounds ((((rodeo))))

Rodeo · 12/01/2008 23:23

Thank you all of you, just what I needed
We called her Lily and she was 1lb and half an ounce. I had early onset pre-eclampsia so they had to deliver her early. Can't quite believe it's 10 years though, it's gone so fast!
Thanks for all your comments, think my thread title is a bit misleading, think if I was reading it I'd thing I'd lost a child, like a 5 or 8 year old, sorry

You did lose a child - does not matter at what age...sorry for your loss...

Rodeo · 12/01/2008 23:32

Thanks Karen, yes not sure why I'm apologising, think I'm a bit tired

what a beautiful name. Lily will always be with you. And good that her younger siblings know a bit about her.
So now you have done something special, you have let us know about her
how about you get you and her a little something tomorrow, something just tiny you can keep?

pinkbubble · 12/01/2008 23:40

Not much more I can say! xx

cazzybabs · 12/01/2008 23:52

I don't thinkl it matters how old your baby ois when you lose them.

Sorry for your loss of Lily.

DaphneHarvey · 13/01/2008 00:01

I read this thread and I thought of your baby girl with the beautiful name.

As someone said earlier, it doesn't matter how old she was when she was taken from you, she was your beloved daughter. So sorry.

WendyWeber · 13/01/2008 01:21

But you did lose her, Rodeo and of course you remember her and mourn her.

Lily is a lovely name.

josben · 13/01/2008 01:40
