Sat here. Crying for my Dad. Feeling sad. My Dad died in January. Five months from driving a car to dying from dementia. We can only be grateful that it was so quick. I am just so sad. I find being this sad very tiring. But my sleep is still broken so I'm exhausted as well. This is too hard. That's my phrase. It's too hard. I hope we all find some peace over the coming days.

I have had a bad day today, thinking about my Dad. MIL will be staying with us this weekend as she has just suffered a bereavement. We are meant to be supporting her, but all I want to do is hide in my bedroom and cry.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for sharing their thoughts - I was just sitting here crying (i cry most days but this felt a bit more intense than the usual) at the thought of Sunday and it really helped reading this thread and knowing that I'm not alone.

I hope others take solace in this also.

Happy Father's Day Dad. Miss and love you so much. Wish you were still here, to hear your lovely voice, your jokes, your laugh, to have a heart felt hug and a good old chat.

God bless you, Dad. You really were a special man. I love you. Xxx

Thinking of you Whatis today, hope your shift is relatively easy for you. My heart is broken today, the same as everyday as I’m missing my dad so much. But today is even harder than I thought it would be.
I love you Dad and miss you so very much. ❤️
🌺 To everyone whose heart is aching for their dad.

44th without my lovely Dad. He was 41 and I was 9. Miss him as much now as I did then. Five months ago my lovely mum joined him.

Big hugs everyone x Flowers

My Dad died suddenly in March, so this is my first too. I didn't think it would be that hard as we didn't do Father's Day, but actually it is really really hard. I miss him so much.

My thoughts are with us all on this thread today x

Spinsister · 17/06/2018 21:47

Thanks for everyone. My Dad died suddenly in November. I used to see him almost every day, and I used to speak to him several times a day whilst driving to/from work appointments (I get bored driving and he was always happy to chat!).

I'm sitting here crying having held it together all day for the kids and DH. Feel like crying every day to be honest.

It really sucks doesn't it Sad The kids talk about him ALL THE TIME, which is heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.
