I can't believe I've just had to write that, i feel numb. My Dad 3.5 years ago, today would have been his birthday.

I never in a million years thought I'd lose my mum so soon. She was 45, full of life, and my absolute rock.

I don't know what to do with myself, I have no idea how in going to possibly manage without her.

Sad

So sorry for your loss. I hope you're as okay as you can be. Do you have people with you?

Rowlers · 26/08/2013 23:48

I lost my mum 3 years ago and was just having a little weep when I saw your thread. I'm so sorry for you and for her. Life can be so very hard.

BIWI · 26/08/2013 23:51

I'm so sorry to hear your news Sad

My mum died aged only 66, when she was full of life, and it was just so unfair.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 26/08/2013 23:52

I can't begin to imagine what you are going through. I hope you have company with you.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 26/08/2013 23:52

hashtagwhatever · 26/08/2013 23:52

Thank you for the replies.
Rowlers I'm sorry for your loss, life really can be awful.
I'm still very close with ExP (DS's dad ) and his family and they've been my rock today and are letting me & DS stay as with them as long as we like. My sister and I are very lucky to have great people around us.

How long does the shock last?

That is so tragic, so young! What a very sad coincidence with it being your dad's birthday too.
We're here when you need to talk
Very sorry for your loss Op

She was funny, warm, kind and would always do anything for anyone. She adored my DS, he's going to miss her so much.
I was her carer as she had mental health issues, but these past 2 years she's been so well, and has been so happy, despite losing my dad. We had so much planned, and so much to look forward to. I spoke to her and saw her everyday. Life is just so cruel.
Thank you again for all your kind messages x

I'm not really sure, Calming, what to say re: how long the shock lasts. All I know is that everything, literally, became very surreal for me and in many ways, it still is. I still now get that urge to have a chat / phone her up / ask advice and for a millisecond it's as if she's still at home about to ring me. I'm not sure that feeling will ever properly go.
It sounds like you have good support around you.

chocolatespiders · 27/08/2013 00:02

So sorry Calming, your mum was so young. You sound like you were an amazing daughter to her.

Sorry for your loss Lava, no matter what our parents issues are, they are part of the foundations of our lives and their loss shakes us to our core. Take some time and be kind to yourself. God bless.

So sorry to read this, my Mum died last August.
I can't believe a whole year has gone by.

I'm glad you have family and lots of support.

I still get a bit weepy sometimes but it does sort of get better, hard though at the moment for you.
