doctor appt friday for DS (sicky, off-balance, bad ears)

1000 replies

EdgarAleNPie · 23/02/2011 18:15

right - he's had an anti-biotic ear spray for two weeks. he has been particularly sick the past week so its doing bugger all

my plan for friday is to ask

-for heavy oral anti-bs to realy kick the infection (if it is bacterial, as if its in the inner ear an exterior spray won't touch it).
-for a referral to a paediatrician (which i can always cancel if he gets better before it coes through)

  • anti-emetics/ anti nausea pills? he's been keeping very little food down. quite thin.

how does that sound for a plan?

he already saw audiology, they said 'yes, there's fluid in his ear.' is there any point in seeing them again?

He's now been down with this since November. Gone from running and kicking a ball to staggering around the house and falling over. can't manage more than a few yards without support.

ok, any thoughts?

'I have one request - try to kiss your kids before bedtime (even if they are surly teenagers) and spread a little of the happiness my little boy brought us.'

Edgar I am in awe of you.

Mamaz0n · 19/03/2011 08:07

Edgar i really have no words to express how i have felt reading this thread. i can only imagine your pain.

And yet i read your last post with both sorrow and a smile. He sounds like a lovely lovely little boy who was very much loved by his adoring family. Any life, however short can not ask for more.

xx

FourFortyFour · 19/03/2011 08:08

Edgar, so very sorry for you and your family. I never know what to say with things like this, to someone I have never met and wouldn't know if I passed in the street but someone who has nevertheless touched my heart so much. Your son sounds like an angel.

Holding a hug for you and your family and hoping you have good RL support this weekend.

I will light a candle tomorrow for your darling boy and another, for you.

nogginthenog · 19/03/2011 09:28

I don't "know" you but you are surely living through all our worst nightmares. I have done as you asked and hugged my children that bit tighter, and thought of your lovely little boy.

peterpansmum · 19/03/2011 09:30

Edgar - I'm so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful little boy. Thinking of you and your family - I don't know what to say, but I do hope that knowing that MNetters the world over are thinking of you is in some very small way comforting to you right now.

Vallhala · 19/03/2011 09:46

In tears for you all Edgar, though I know it won't help. If you've a god may he walk with you at this sad time, if you've none, may the strength of our wishes across the miles and airwaves comfort you and either way may you be of comfort to each other and may happy memories help to heal your broken hearts.
