ds, about two.

Ds was about 2. A friends little girl was about 18 months and had only just learnt to walk (but she was left for hours in a jolly jumper)

DD was about 20 months when first attempted (the whole body movement without feet leaving floor) then maybe 5 or 6 weeeks later she finally got it!

ds can jump tiny tiny amount off floor with lots of effort and about a 50/50 hit rate. One more example of what good value he is - bargain. He's been doing it since 20 months.

DS is 20mths and has been able to jump on the floor for about 2 mths. He is now at the interesting stage of climbing on couches/tables to jump off and land on his feet...manages it 50% of time.other times he lands on bum

21 months
pulls all the cushions off the sofa, jumps off sofa on to them then jumps up and down ad infinitum

My dd jumped up and down at quite an early age. But if you're talking about properly - ie. being able to jump with both feet off the floor at once, then I don't think she could do it until something like 2.5 yrs. She used to skip on trampolines, never co-ordinating both feet at the same time.

loupylou · 08/09/2005 23:29

i think tumbletots expect them to be doing two feet together jumps at around three

Haven't read the thread yet but

DS1 - was about 3 (ish) when he first jumped both feet off the floor

DS2.........started about 18 months (although at 21 months still lands on his bum occasionaly). This means he's now capable of launching himself off the pouffe (sp)
