my son thinks he is a cat!

For a good few weeks now, ds (3 in couple weeks) thinks he is a cat! When he comes in to see me in bed in the mornings, he miaows! He crawls all day on his hands and knees, talking in a squeky voice, 'need pussy cat food, pussy cat be, pussy cat mummy'. He talks about his fur and tail!
I would add that we don't have a cat!
I am wondering if he was a cat in a previous life! When he has a ferocious tantrum, the only way I can get him to calm down is to miaow to him! it started as a game , but seems to be taking over his life now. Last night he was looking for food in my cupboards, and I said no because I was cooking dinner. He moaned so I said it was pussy cat dinner (to stop a tantrum), and his face lit up and said 'Is it a mouse?!!!!' It was salmon (a close second cat favorite!) Does anyone else have a child who behaves like this??!!

Dd2 was a cat for ages and I was mummy cat. We conversed in miaows. Ds1 spent an entire summer as a duck. It was a bit embarrassing in lifts, explaining that he was flapping his arms to enable him to fly upwards. He's now nearly 30 yo and I'd like to say he's grown out of it but his wife recently caught him being a sealion, in the shower!!

DS has been a 'baby mole with a pink nose and hands like spades' (as in the Percy the Prk Keeper books) for approx 6 months. If anyone asks his name he says 'I'm Baby Mole' and demonstrates his digging skills. I'm Mummy Mole and all his friends are (first name) Mole. I think it's lovely and all his friends just seem to accept that he's not a boy, he's a mole!

Snap - I too used to dance around to the tune of black beauty.

My brother (now 36) used to pretend to be a bus and he would only answer if he was called "bus". When it was raining he used to walk down the street with his windscreen wipers on!

Obviously, in my duty as an aunty I felt it only fair that this gem of info should be told to his children - who think it quite hysterical!

well, I am quite relived it's not just my son that is a bit loony! I did laugh at the mole and bus stories.
As I tucked up ds in bed last night his last word were 'miaow I am in pussy cat bed and my fur is warm', and his first words this morning were 'miaow I want mummy cat!'
Oh Well!

Ahhh, what a cutie cat you've got. Someone has now bought DS a mole glove puppet, which I think will need to be surgically removed!

Ds (2 + 1/2) is going through a Bob the Builder phase. Dh is Bob and I am Wendy apparently, which is highly embarrassing in public. We've started calling him Pilchard and hope that it's just a phase. I think it shows that they have tons of imagination, that's all.

My 2 1/2 year old often miaows and pretends he's a cat. I know of friends kids who act like cats/dogs - i think it's a completely normal phase - just enjoy & laugh!!

dd2 is a rabbit.

mine was rubbing my back recently and he said "I healing you Mummy - I Jesus" - so never mind about your cats and rabbits.......
Although no wise men around when I had him and I definitely didn't qualify
