How many wash loads do you do a day and how many adults/kids in your family?

I generally do one wash one day and two the next, there is me dh and dd, who is in reusable nappies, so only 3 of us. Do you think this could be too many washes?

spokette - glad you said that about the bedding. I don't change sheets every week. Was beginning to feel like a right old laundry slut! A double bed, a cabin bed and a set of right angle bunk beds are a nightmare to change.

Quattro you do a seperate lingerie load?! How many pairs of knickers do you wear a day?!

We are 2 adults, 2 dc under 2 both in washable nappies. I usually do 1 load a day although the nappies are sometimes an additional load. I am scummy with towels/bedding though and do towels one week bedding the next-they take up too much drying space otherwise, particularly in winter when I can't get anything dry!

oh to have the kind of underwear that gets to be called lingerie and gets its own special wash!

blimey itsahardknock that's a lot of washing, are you serious?

2 adults, one child, we do about 4 loads a week, 5 if washing bedlinen

4 people

I do 3 or 4 washes at the weekend and that's it per week

itsahardknocklife · 08/05/2008 14:12

yes, I am serious! My friends laugh at me, but I can't help it!
Lol at the lingerie wash - my knickers are so big I can just about fit one pair in the machine at a time

MrsBoo · 08/05/2008 14:12

2 adults and 2 kids (school age)
Probably 4 or 5 loads per week.

spokette · 08/05/2008 14:13

Ormrian, in winter I only wash the sheets once a month because we sweat less!!

PenelopePitstops · 08/05/2008 14:13

5 of us, 5 loads a week approx

Clairey - sep lingerie load yes because I do mine on delicates - 7 pairs knickers and 7 bras a week plus one or two silk tops/slips etc I do use half/load & economy for the lingerie because it isn't a full load.

backfire · 08/05/2008 18:02

4 children, self and dh. On average, 2 loads per day, increasing to about 5 loads altogether at the weekend.

HappyMummyOfOne · 09/05/2008 10:52

I do 2 -3 loads a week - one friday and the other saturday so that i get chance to dry one lot before the other goes in. There are 3 of us and I have enough school uniform to last the week so suits us fine.

Added bonus that it helps use less water and power so a bit greener too.

TattooedGrrrl · 09/05/2008 10:54

one a day, sometimes 2. There's me, DH and 2 DSs both under 2.

Ceolas · 09/05/2008 11:01

2 adults, 4 children

At least 2.
