DD is 18.5 months (how precise!) and still in poppered vests and sleepsuits. Our house is pretty cold at night and I feel that the all-in-ones are warmer somehow. I've been looking at pj's but they all seem to have straight hems - surely they'll just ride up in the night. I want some with cuffs on like long-johns!

DS a large 16 mo (in 18-24 size) and we still use vests but not sleepsuits (pj top and grobag). He wasn't wearing a vest the other day as I couldn't find a clean one and I noticed his top was riding up which would have been a bit chilly. His trousers tend to slip down anyway so I prefer popper vests. I might have to abandon them soon as I think we're using the biggest available size (sigh).

Mind you, DH is convinced that we could start potty training DS at 18 months. I am smiling politely while sniggering behind my hand and slipping '2 - 4 years' into the conversation.

dd is 22 months and I started putting her in pj's last summer
(was a blessed relief not to have to fart about with all those poppers any more but was partly because she'd grown out of one set of sleepsuits and the next size up was ridiculously big on her)
she has also been in non-poppered vests for a few months-much easier all round I think [lazy emoticon]

tassisssss · 18/02/2008 16:12

we'll do popper vests until potty trained again this time and have switched to pjs gradually - dd is 17 months and wears some sleep suits and some jammies.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/02/2008 16:19

Dd is just 2 and still wears poppered vests, as it's the only way to stop her removing her own nappy.

Hasn't worn sleepsuits for about a year.

DS is 21 mths is still in vests and sleepsuits - he's on the small side so his 12-18mth ones still fit - once these are grown out of though (in the next month or two) then we'll get PJ's to replace them.

deaconblue · 18/02/2008 20:19

my ds is 22 months and wears poppered vests but has been in pj's for a few months since we swapped sleeping bag for duvet.

MaeWest · 18/02/2008 20:26

DS is 18 months and still use poppered vests (day and night) as it keeps his kidneys nice and warm , and stops him taking his nappy off.

I think we stopped using sleepsuits with feet around 11 months as he was cruising around at brekkie time and tripping over the feet. He now has pjs and sleeping bag.

blueshoes · 18/02/2008 20:50

Maewest, I am now thinking of ds' kidneys ... very cute.

ds 17m still wears sleepsuits and vests (and will continue to do so if the weather is cold). Sleepsuits because he kicks off his sheets at night and I don't like the way pj tops ride up. I also like the tellytubby look on him, cute tum and .. kidneys.

Vests with popper under his clothes during the day because it gives him a sleek look.

LilRedWG · 18/02/2008 20:53

Poppered vests a must or nappies get taken off and thrown around!

PJs are a mix or sleepsuits and combos.

rookiemater · 18/02/2008 20:54

Ds is 23mths and mostly sleeps in pjs, mainly because he scampers off before I can get the 92 poppers done.

He is mostly moved over to non popper vests mainly because he has a long body so has grown out of most of them.

He looks so adult with his old man vests.

theangelshavethephonebox · 18/02/2008 20:57

ds 20m still in poppered vest and fleecy sleepsuit - I think he's adorable in them

will probably switch to PJs when it gets warmer

Izabella · 18/02/2008 21:53

I would have loved to have kept my DD in her sleep suit until she is well over two but she has a fascination for poppers and is very talented at undoing them all and stripping herself off , so since she was 16 months she's been in regular pj's. Sad though because I feel like that's one more baby thing we've left behind.

fingerwoman · 18/02/2008 21:59

mine wore poppered vests and babygros until he was potty trained and it wasn't practical any more.
he def had sleepsuits up to 2-3 yrs
