Obsessed with BF

My 26 month old DS is obsessed with bfing. It's starting to totally get on my nerves. He only has it at bedtime and in the morning along with his baby sister.

When I pick him up from nursery, he's asking for it all the way home. We get in the door, he's asking for it all the way to bed. When I make him clean his teeth and get into pyjamas, he goes mental with upset at the thought of any delay. Even DH wonders why he is obsessed with it and gets frantic about it.

Is this odd behaviour or does anyone else's child feel the same way? Will it pass? I don't really want to bf him beyond 3. I'm already irritated by it.

Well, I decided to stop bfing DS two days ago. He's ok, keeps asking for it but is getting lots of hugs and kisses and distractions instead. No trantrums yet and he doesn't seem too upset. Before, he would be very upset at the thought of any delay in getting his breastfeed. Now there's none of that. He's drinking a lot more water and eating better too even 24 hours later.

I reckon 26 months is good going. I hope he doesn't dwell too much on it and feel badly or overly rejected for long.

Thank you for all your thoughts on this. You helped me a lot.

Glad its going well. I wonder if it was a cue for him for tiredness?

DS occasionally asks for it (he is also 26 months), but it is often when he is very tired/exhausted. He doesnt feed to sleep - and hasnt done since he was well under one year old so I dont know why it came about, it just did.
