First wobbly tooth - need info about tooth fairy please!!

Help! OK so I'm not imaginative, but what does the tooth fairy actually DO with the teeth she collects? I just know DS1 is going to ask soon!

My 7 yr DD has bigger sister and kind of knew I was the tooth fairy. Shame. But she thought it was funny and asked if I wore a pink tutu when I came to her room to leave the money!

Fairies use them for making their fairy castles of course! Thats why you have to look after them otherwise the bad ones are used in the dungeons!

They give them to the fairy queen who wears them as a necklace - at least that's what my letter said and I've always believed it to be true

My DD just lost her first tooth and put it under her pillow. So like good parents we took the tooth away and left her some money (actually her Nana insisted on donating as well so we gave her a £2 coin which she then tried to unwrap because she thought it was chocolate but I digress...). The next day she starts asking for her tooth back. I told her the tooth fairy took it. But she replies, I know there's no tooth fairy, I know it was daddy who took it, I want it back. Nope, I stick to my story. So a few hours later she tells me she's very, very sad because she thinks her smile looks silly now and she's not happy about the way she looks etc, etc. Tried lots of comforting words but to no avail. She seemed genuinely distraught. (Here's the clincher now, who knew a 5 year old could be so manipulative!) Then she says, The only thing that could possibly make her feel better is if she got her tooth back! So I caved in and gave it back. Then she promptly lost it.

My sil told her 2 children that the tooth faity uses the teeth to build their houses as they all need somewhere to stay. What an imagination!

Legend has it here in Switzerland that the tooth fairies use the teeth to build a beautiful castle in fairyland. My dd doesn't seem to care where her teeth go as long as she gets the dosh!

Tooth Fairy is called Twinkle. She collects them in a special purse and uses them as building bricks to make fairy houses, in Fairyland.

DD's dentist always gives the children sticers after their appointment. However at the last visit he'd just been to a conference and had a couple of little necklaces made out of pretend white teeth - he gave DD one and she loved it. He told her the tooth fairies sometimes use the teeth to make jewellery for humans.

oh...dh wasn't that far off the mark then!
DD1 is very insistant she has a wobbly tooth
She asked dh lots of questions...and he said the fairy builds a palace and a fairy kingdom with all the teeth. He then told her that it is VERY important to keep your teeth clean and white...so the fairy has a beautiful sparkling palace!
I was quite amazed at his ingenuity! Obviously this is common knowledge though! (DUH Ludaloo!)

Um, yes, the tooth fairy is a mouse in Switzerland too, bctmum. But it will always be a fairy for us. I keep the teeth in a little box but a friend of mine, who's dh is iranian, will not let her keep her dc's teeth. Something about discarded body parts. He'd faint with horror if he knew i kept my dc's cord stumps!
