She's gone to school ~ In floods of tears!

That's it really, my dd started her first day at school today and went into the classroom bawling her lamps out. She clung to my arm, tried to wrap her leg round mine, and basically made a show of us I was distraught for her too The teacher ended up telling me to leave (which I was planning on doing anyway, as soon as dd let go of my arm!) I felt like I had been told off..and I could hear my dd crying all the way down the school path. The teacher led me out of the classroom and told me I could go back in 15minutes, which I thought was pointless, as, if she had stopped crying, then seeing me again would start her all over again! I waited at the gates and asked another mum who said she wasn't crying as loudly as she had been.. then the next mum said she had settled well.. the last mum out said she wasn't crying anymore and was chatting to the teacher... so I guess she might be ok now. I'll go for her at 12noon ans hopefully she will settle ok tomorrow morning She had been so looking forward to it as well.

FFF2, my heart goes out to you. DD used to do that to me when she was little and at the childminders, only to be happy as once I was out of sight... hope your dd settles quickly

oh boy now I've got visions of my dd going ballistic on Thursday when starting reception! She was bad enough today when she couldn't come with me to 'break in' ds at nursery (he's 2). She's really looking forward to big school so hoping there won't be an emotional overspill...

Glad it went alright for your dd today - second days are often easier. My ds1 wasn't at all impressed yesterday about going back to school in a different classroom after being off for six weeks, but was up and dressed like a shot this morning to go back again. He was ready to leave at eight o'clock (we don't start getting ready to leave till half past!)

Love the pasta jar idea Zippy, going to get my boys to decorate some jars this afternoon so we can use the same trick, I'm fed up with the rows we have over getting dressed and teeth cleaned in the morning!
