what age did your babies start walking??

My lil girl is 16months and litterly JUST started crawling when all her friends of similar ages are tearing around on their feet!! She was premature so not worrying just yet just interested to hear from other mummies!!! Xx

My dd was 18 months!!!! :-o

Less falls and bumps too when she did get up on her feet!!!!

DD was 17 months - didn't crawl at all, just started walking one morning, very steady hardly ever fell. I'm glad she took her time tbh.

My dd was 19 months. She had the muscles to do it, just hadn't yet perfected it in her head. When she did get up, she didn't toddle, she walked and never ever fell down. She was my 2nd...I had watched ds walk at 12 months and toddle and fall and really was a little surprised by dd. But she so clearly had nothing wrong with her, that I didn't worry too much. HV did send me to gp several times (first time was because dd wasn't "turning over"....never mind that she was crawling perfectly well)....gp just laughed. Dd was speaking in full sentences at 12 months, by the way, so it was a little funny looking to see this baby who could talk (and looked) like a 2 year old, but couldn't walk.

DD crawled just before she was 10mo but then didn't walk til she was 18mo. We were frantic for her to walk but she just did it in her own time! They are all so different!

DS1 started puuling up at 6 months, and walking holding on to us, but didn't walk independently until about 12 months. I know others who walked at 9 months, and others are 21 months. Some never crawled at all, others crawled for months. You could not really tell the difference between them by the time they were 3 or 4.

16 months. He was a bum-shuffler (he never crawled) and they tend to walk later apparently. He started bum-shuffling at around 9 months.

I wasn't overly concerned but most of his peers were walking by around 12 months.

ds1 walked on his first birthday :)

ds2 was 9mths, had been crusing round the furniture for a good while before that, he crawled at 5mths!

ds3 was 10mths

ds4 was 15mths

dd was 16mths

you cant tell if you look at the elder 4 who walked earlier than the others, they are all fine, dd now 20mths and is running around with her brothers, climbing and trying to jump etc, he later start hasnt held her back at all, i think she was just lazy, she could have walked earlier but had 4 elder brothers to fetch and carry for her

ds was 14 months,
dd1 about 10 months across the room, but took a lot longer to gain confidence outside
dd2 11 months

God Daughter .......... ........never crawled, just went in for a bit of bum shuffling.............. 26 months ! Does she win ? (For reassurance, she's 19 now and absolutely perfectly normally developed)

Both DSs 8 and a bit months, it was a nightmare

DD bum shuffled at 15 months (never crawled) and walked at almost 23 months.

Both mine crawled at 9 months, but DS was walking at 10 mths whereas DD has just started walking at 15 mths!

DS - also premmie - walked at about 16/17 months which would adjusted be 13/14 months.

Cruising from 7/8 months, first unaided steps at 9 months.

he also never crawled "properly" - commando crawl only and didn't sit unaided until he was 12 months. As I type he is competing in a tennis tournament aged 6.5yrs so I don't think it made a big difference in the end!

DD1 walked at 9 months. DD2 is nearly 7 months and is just starting to crawl now.

first child, day before she turned 10 months

second child, well no sign of it yet, no where near, at 9 months, light years behind the first.

Both 14 months

DD was 11 months

DS was about 9 months when he took his first tentative steps. He's 11 months old now and can run with ease. He has no sense whatsoever and I would rather he wasn't so physically determined.

My DD was 21 months when she walked she wasn't prem either she didn't crawl properly till 17 months she did do a kind of worm crawl from about 13 months. I wouldn't worry but if you want real advice speak to your health visitor mine was really supportive

Walked pushing trolley/cruising round furniture at 12 months. Walked unaided at 16 months. Took her 4 months to let go of the furniture! Good though, as by 16 MO she knew what "no" meant so no nasty accidents and big enough to push back (well, not quite, but big enough not to be stepped on) if anyone bumped into her whilst she was walking in zig zag lines across the park!

My 2 both walked at 9 months. But had no teeth until at least 1 year and the second one only has a couple of words at almost 20 months.

They also had no sense of danger/ insufficient spatial awareness when walking for the first few months-it was very tough!

Don't worry op, your baby will get there and there will be no difference by 3!

DS1 crawled at 10 months walked at 17 months
DS2 crawled at 11 months walked at 18.5 months
DS3 army crawled at 6 months, crawled at 10 months and walked at 14 months.
