What do people think? I think Freddy is lovely as a shortening, and we don't like Frederica.

Excactly, frakkit, I just copy/paste from word/web. You can also use the Alt keys (e.g. alt+148 = ö) but I only know the German Umlauts, not the French accents. You can probaly look them up somewhere though.

You need a Swiss keyboard, then you can do the àèéàèäöüä

I switch back and forth between German and English keyboards, which is very useful on my laptop (which has a UK keyboard) when I need to type something with a lot of German characters. You just need to add another input language and can then switch between them by pressing Alt + Shift (probably only worth doing if you regularly work in two language, though). The only problem is that you have to remember where all the umlauts etc would normally be on a German keyboard when you're using one that still looks English...

Frederick is just too cruel for words. How about Fernanda and sort of stretch it to make a Freddie?
