Tuesday for a DD?

I'm 19w with DC1 and possibly starting to feel some of the hormonal wobbles that I've avoided so far.
We don't know the sex yet- but my DH and I think that if we have a DD we would love to call her Tuesday Elizabeth. If we dare!
I keep picturing this little girl and think of her as being happy, fun and outgoing. I have an unusual name myself, and have always loved it.
I've asked a few friends and they've been positive about it, but they're probably just being kind. So I've steeled myself for your honest opinions- is this totally crazy?

I like it, and to me, it's no different to e.g. Summer, April, May or June as names. Except it's less well-used.

Yeah I hear you! The ONLY name that would make a horrible first name is Saturday, imo.

AbFabT, yes exactly. Domingo (Sunday) is used in Spain.

Elizabeth is a beautiful name.

The only thing that would put me off is Tuesday in French is mardi and for me that just equates to mardy (grumpy) so Tuesday is a grumpy day... That's just me though.

i used quite a conservative name (along the lines of but not Elizabeth) and some people said "oh that's a bit conservative isn't it?". Somebody else told me that my dd's name "didn't do it" for her . As you have an unusual name yourself and you always liked that, then I think, although it is perhaps illogical, people will be less quick to judge you for calling your daughter Tuesday. If Claire and Dave call their daughter Kiliminjaro Indigo, they might be judged more???? that's just a theory people. I've no idea really.

I like it. It's one of the prettiest days of the week (Sunday's quite nice too).

I am a bit surprised someone called their child Easter though - not keen.

I love Tuesday and I love Wednesday but you would have to have a daughter and she would have to be born on those days! What are those odds I wonder?

How about Talia or Tallulah?

Or depending when your baby arrives - Abina, which means "born on Tuesday"!

Pointydog- you're absolutely right about Tuesday being a dull day of the week. If that was your name, do you think you'd enjoy the day a bit more? Possibly not- and probably not a good reason to choose it!

Frakkit- I thought about the mardi issue. And we will probably spend a fair bit of time in France as DH's parents live there. Hmmm...

Diplodoris- funny you suggest Talia- that's another one we're considering, although possibly spelt Thalia. It may be what we go with if we lose our nerve!

I think it would be tiresome to be named after a day of th e week. I prefer to have a nice meaning behind a name.

Tuesdays child is full of grace, How about Grace for a name?
Bonny for a girl born on a Sunday?

I like the name but wouldn't inflict it on my baby - only because you just know she will get ribbed none stop at school - especially on a tuesday! How about having Tuesday as her middle name?

Sorry but it sounds like a good name for a cat to me, not a baby.

But on the plus side the old rhyme comes to my mind, "Tuesday's child is fair of face", which is rather nice for a girl.

Too Jasper FForde, or Addams Family. Not keen. Especially as it translates in French to "Mardi" - which re-translates back into English as moody, miserable, sulky. I wouldn't do it. Even if she is born on a Tuesday - shows a distinct lack of imagination, imo.
