If you had a Sophia, what would her siblings be called?

High long time lurker, first time poster. We are expecting our first baby, which we've just found out is a girl and I'm on a baby high so bare with me...

We love the name Sophia, but looking forward we hope to have 4 kids in total (mother nature/finances/reality willing).

So what would you call the siblings of a Sophia?

We are drawn to established /classic/traditional names, but not necessarily top 100.

Surname begins with I, and we're not keen on alliteration.

Thanks.

Well, I have a Nicholas (good to see it on the list!) and a Matthew and DD was going to be Sophia right up until she was born (in a postlabour haze I decided it didn't suit her, and we went for Lydia eventually)

lisalisa · 15/06/2010 19:54

Well I have a Sophia..... And I have 5 others too but I dont' want to reveal all their names! I will however tell you that Sophia has a brother called DAvid ( pronounced Duvid).

ilovestrictly · 15/06/2010 19:54

. . .Alexander, Zara and Dominic

Lotkinsgonecurly · 15/06/2010 20:05

JoBaloney · 15/06/2010 20:14

Lisalisa you're my future, but one better! Can I ask, did you also decide before you started having kids to have 5?

Lots of good name suggestions - there are plenty there that I instantly like how they sound.

rosieposey · 15/06/2010 20:32

I have a Sofia, and her siblings are called, Faith, Grace and Milo - They all sort of go

wigglesrock · 15/06/2010 20:36

I have a Sofia and an Olivia and another one arriving shortly- bit lost on boys names but Dominic is a definite maybe! Not sure about girls names, may just subliminally choose footballers name- world cup cabin fever!!

NiceCuppaT · 15/06/2010 20:49

Rosa, Ella, Benjamin, Amelie, Joseph

JoBaloney · 15/06/2010 20:57

Congratulations Lisalisa! You are a star! Did you find naming your babies hard? Is this thread helping you too?! DH and I both came from biggish families, 4 & 5, and loved it. However with so many names 'used' by siblings and nieces and nephews it means having to think a little harder.

Congratulations Wigglesrock too!

sophia would have a sister called emily and another called Charlotte

Lilyloo · 15/06/2010 21:02

I know one with siblings Reece and Rubi
and another with a Jacob

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 15/06/2010 21:04

Cecilia. I know of a couple of Sophia/Cecilia pairings.

Possibly also Matilda, Lydia, Lucy, Charlotte, Emily, Isabel...

Wanderingsheep · 15/06/2010 21:13

I love Sophia. It's my DD's middle name and sometimes I wish I had kept it incase we ever have another DD.

Names I like are Emily, Annabelle, Charlotte, Aimee, Lucy, Amelie and Gabriella.

BikeRunSki · 15/06/2010 21:17

I know a Sophia and Suzanna.

CuppaTeaJanice · 15/06/2010 21:19

DD2 would be Allegra, then a boy called Marcus and lastly, little Xanthe.

skymonkey · 15/06/2010 21:40

Ooh I love the name Sophia and our younger son would have been called this if he'd been a girl. Would have been sister to Lucas.

GladioliBuckets · 16/06/2010 10:51

I'd go Greek.

Penelope
Chryssa (means gold)
Phoebe
Helena

Alexander
Theodore
Gregory
Christopher

Unless you pronounce it Soph-eye-a? In which case old school Victorian names would suit it best.

Cortina · 16/06/2010 11:02

Sophia siblings I know:

Max

Francesca
Julia
Tabitha
Isabella

JoBaloney · 16/06/2010 11:34

GladioliBuckets - I like the Greek theme, the names would sit well together.

Love Cecilia too, but would have thought a Sophia and Cecilia in the same family would be too much. Maybe that's just me as I wouldn't want to double up on initials or similar sounds.

Also I like the idea of each child's name ending differently e.g. Sophia, Phoebe, Alexander and Dominic.

Because our surname begins with I names ending in ie/y don't go so well together.
