If you had a Sophia, what would her siblings be called?

High long time lurker, first time poster. We are expecting our first baby, which we've just found out is a girl and I'm on a baby high so bare with me...

We love the name Sophia, but looking forward we hope to have 4 kids in total (mother nature/finances/reality willing).

So what would you call the siblings of a Sophia?

We are drawn to established /classic/traditional names, but not necessarily top 100.

Surname begins with I, and we're not keen on alliteration.

Thanks.

LOL the reason you like Cecilia is because it sounds like Sophia.

GetOrfMoiLand · 16/06/2010 12:39

OOH OOh OOH what a great thread. I have an only child called Sophia - I can live vicariously through you and name the fantasy otehr children I will never have.

I would go Greek with the girls names:

Hera
Iris
Oenone (wouldn't get past DP, that one)
Penelope

And classical with the boys names:

Inigo (Ha! another one for DP top veto)
Gabriel
Benedict

Oh I do love Clara and Clarissa. I wish I hadn't given mine Clare as a middle name now, because I can't use it again.

GOML, how do you pronounce Oenone?

vess · 16/06/2010 15:39

I have a Sophia with a younger sister Elena. And an older brother Aiden (I know, I know - it doesn't match and goes against all rules of baby-naming. But it suits him.)

We have a Sofya who is 16 weeks (Russian version of Sophia pronounced Soff (as in soft) ya (as in rhymes with baa baa black sheep).

If we have another I like Malachy for a boy, Seren for another girl.

JoBaloney · 18/06/2010 11:18

Impressive work HeloKitty!

I'm loving Oenone, but think the child wouldn't thank me for it and I could never get it past DP, he vetoed Hermione.

Do you think Sophia & Clementine go together?

I'm liking Magnus for the boys.

LighteningThief · 20/06/2010 14:35

I have a Sophia and she has 3 siblings with another on the way! I posted this thread a while ago if there is anything on there you like the look of!

Our Sophia's siblings are Oliver, Christian (Kit) and Isabella. At the moment our shortlist is looking like Gabriel, Alexander or Xavier for a boy and Lydia, Tahlia or Anastasia (maybe...) for a girl. DH and I change our minds weekly at the moment though

good luck!

MissKatie01 · 16/03/2015 19:52
