Do you? And if not what would you like to be called?

I like my first name but my second name was the same as nine of the 16 girls in class and at the time, it felt like my parents couldn't be bothered to think of anything more original.

In the end I just stopped using it.

Hated my name as a kid (Victoria) but love it now.

violet I am Joanne, jo, too- have always disliked it. There were always at least 3 in in any class I was in at school. And it was never shortened. From uni onwards, i have always introduced myself as Jo, lots of people don't even know what my full name is. M grandpa used to call me Josephine- i like that!!
My middle name is elizabeth- i really like that, and gave it dd as her mn too.

No. It's too yellow, and sounds like an out of breath lump. Even my middle name is yellow.

I would have liked to be called something blue (Mary, Anne, Alexandra) green (Jane) or pink (Isabel, Miranda, Juliet). Preferably a combination like Isabel Jane.

I'm a Lowri, I like it, it's unusual. But thanks to Lowri Turner no-one can pronounce it, I love having an unusual name but it would be nice if people would make the effort to learn to pronounce it, it only has two syllables - Low (as in high/low) ree. Simples!!! Plus the spellings are a nightmare. I used to want to be called Rosie at primary school.

Ah well, I think Victoria is yellow/brown. So I wouldn't choose it myself, as I'm not keen on those colours. But I know that people with synaesthesia don't all have the same set of colours for letters/words, so yours would undoubtedly be different.

I'm a twenty something EMILY - I detest my name, keep meaning to change it to Emma, why oh why could my parents not just call em Emma, its plain, simple, easy to live with, and most importantly for an extreme tomboy its not so flouncy. There were no other Emily's at my school, there was just me and Emily Bishop aka corrie, and i am, and always have been mortified by name.

Not really - it dates me, its one of those names like Ethel or Hilda which will date me exactly when I am older (should that be even older)

No, i hate my name it is along the lines of Rain, Rainbow or Tree it makes it obvious my parents were hippies and probably stoned when they chose it. I would like to be called somthing ordinary and boring like Jane.

There certainly isn't many of us about, though not really unusual. Think it was a fairly out of date name when I was named it so not many of my generation.

I'm Clare and I hate it.

For a start, people assume that I was born in the 70s, when I was born in the late 80s. Our class teacher numbered the Clares in order of birthday as there were 5 of us. I also hate having to spell it all the time as there are so many different ways!

Yes I love it as an adult. Classic but not that usual. As a child I hated it. Too grown up for a little girl and was a disaster coupled with my maiden name so teased about it. Funnily enough my family were very surprised when I took DHs name on marriage I don't think they ever realised what they had saddled me with.

I've always liked both of my names - very classic. They've both been mentionned by people wishing they had been called them!

No I don't. It is very 'of the moment' and that moment was about 10 years after I was born and is now long gone. I suppose it might make me seem younger but my face would soon give me away.
