Well i would say i like Lucy best as this is the name i have chosen for my baby girl i'm expecting.

suiledonne · 08/05/2010 16:10

I think Lucy but I am biased as I have one

My sister calls her Lulu as a nickname.

louiespence · 08/05/2010 16:10

I like Lucy best, a cute but sensible name!

Poohbearsmom · 08/05/2010 16:15

Lucy in the sky with diamonds just lovely

suiledonne · 08/05/2010 16:19

poohbear I told my 4 year old Lucy about that song a few months ago and she said 'I am NOT in the sky, and I don't have any diamonds'

Maybe she will appreciate it when she is older.

Lucia! Lucia could be anything. I like that I don't have a clear picture. She would make the name her own.

Lucia can 'evolve' in to the nick name Lulu is what I call an 'eye-roller'. Sorry. Lulu! Well, I told you what Lulu's bedroom is like! loads of pink fluff and huge very expensive white furniture! Flowery cloth letters on the wall spelling out lulu! a white whicker rocking chair. Basically the bedroom of your daughter's dreams. Or maybe her mother's dreams!

Lucy is very classic and would be a text book child! with clever hardworking successful parent.

but Lucia has the edge. Lucille is lovely but you said that you wanted a three syllable name with your short sur name,

So

Lucia

Magaly · 08/05/2010 16:54

ps, lulu is ok as a pet name. I just wouldn't like it as a proper name.

oceryo · 08/05/2010 16:54

I like Lucy and Lucia.

BallpointPen · 08/05/2010 17:57

Lucy. It's my sister's name and DD's middle. Lovely.

loobylu3 · 08/05/2010 19:37

Lucy if you want a classic, pretty name that never goes out of fashion. I don't think I have ever met a Lucy who wasn't nice.

Lucia is you want something a little more exotic, more elegant and feminine. You would have to decide whether to pn it Loo- che- ah or Loo- see- ah.

Speaking as a Lucy, I like my name and appreciate the fact that it does not date me. However, I absolutely adore Lucia!

diddl · 09/05/2010 09:53

Lucia.

Lucy somehow "cutsie" & old lady for me!

GladioliBuckets · 09/05/2010 18:11

Well I'm going to vote for Lucille. Yes it's bit more grown up but little girls do grow up, don't they? It's more unusual, has a slightly more exotic French appeal but still means 'light/light-shedding.' Why be dull, I say?

halfawake · 09/05/2010 20:34

Lucy, I absolutely love it. Gorgeous, classic and sweet name that you can't go wrong with.

Lucia is also very pretty but the only thing putting me off is that I never know how to pronounce it. Some say Loo-see-a, Loo-chee-a or other various versions and it can be confusing.

Lucille is a bit old lady or fussy for me (don't like Lucinda either)

Lulu is fine as a nickname but not enough for a full name

Bonsoir · 09/05/2010 20:35

Lucie

Boobz · 09/05/2010 21:59

Penelope.

suspiria · 09/05/2010 22:12

Lucia is so beautiful
I agree with diddl about Lucy
You picked a fine time to leave me Lucille with four hungry children and a crop in the field
Lulu is a nick name
You didn't pick Lucinda ,but I really like it

Hulababy · 09/05/2010 22:22

Lucy (or Lucie)

Jamieandhismagictorch · 09/05/2010 22:25

Lucia - more sophisticated and suitable for a woman. Lulu can then be a nn

susiey · 10/05/2010 19:00

if my ds was a dd he would have been a lucia as we have a 1 sylabble surnames.
as it happens we will be using lucy as a middle name for our currently ccoking daughter!

mrsSmurf · 10/05/2010 19:03

I like Lucy it's classic and doesn't date.

yummymummie1 · 10/05/2010 19:27

lulu and lucia are lovely but what about LOLA?!?! X

KiddingAnxiously · 10/05/2010 19:32

I love Lucia (am biased though, tis DN's name)

tassisssss · 10/05/2010 19:33

My Lucy gets called Lulu (or Noonoo as her wee sister pronounces it!). Both great names.

KiddingAnxiously · 10/05/2010 22:35

Yes I think Lu lu is inevitable when you have a Lu/Lou name.
