What do you think of Keeley as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

Put on your hard hate, MN seems to have an irrational distaste of 'K' names.

Keeley is not so bad, I wouldn't choose it, but have no strong opinions on it

Lionstar · 21/04/2010 12:37

hard hat I meant

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 12:42

Thanks Lionstar, I know what you mean and to be honest, I don't go a bundle on then either, but this is my middle name. I always hated it but always got a lovely reaction to the name and have now come to like it.

Also our surname is similar sounding to Hawes as in Keeley Hawes.

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 13:33

It's not to my taste (I'm one of those with an irrational dislike of K names ), but it's a nice reason for choosing a name.

The Keeley I know has sisters named Keziah & Yasmin.
I personally like Keziah best of those 3. .

theagedparent · 21/04/2010 14:01

Not keen on Keeley, sounds too squeaky like Keeeeeeeley

MrsYoung · 21/04/2010 14:02

I don't like it but only because there was a Keeley in the year above me at school who was a right cow

AntoinetteOuradi · 21/04/2010 14:03

Oh dear no. And I have no general objections to K names.

Now you see, I'm very anti-K names, but I quite like Keeley! (I think because it looks like Keeley is its correct spelling and not someone trying to be clever and "unique")

venusonarockbun · 21/04/2010 14:31

Dont like it at all. Makes me think - Keel - Keel over - drunk.

IngridFletcher · 21/04/2010 14:35

I don't like it because it is a lot like my name which I don't like particularly.

I think it may be having a resurgance though as I know a toddler Keeley.

BessieBoots · 21/04/2010 14:36

Reminds me of Keele College.

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 14:43

Its not looking good then
