What do you think of Keeley as a girl's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

I don't like it- was at school with one, and that God awful woman on Loose Women has a daughter called that.

cumbria81 · 21/04/2010 14:58

bit....common.

AdasMum · 21/04/2010 15:51

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 15:54

sweetkitty · 21/04/2010 16:10

Prefer Kelsey

Alouiseg · 21/04/2010 16:11

Dated, i'm, thinking 1985, big perms and menthol fags.

It's that K thing, I really blame Marillion.

notanumber · 21/04/2010 16:19

I agree that it feels a bit dated. Very 80s sort of name.

How about Kerensa? It's Cornish I think, and means 'love'.

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 16:24

pmsl at Marillion, Ok you have all persuaded me K names are out, sorry will be passing on Kerensa, thanks anyway

There's the actress Keeley Hawes. It's very 1970's common, if you see what I mean.

Keeley Hawes might sound posh now, but she's the daughter of a London cabbie, who had elocution lessons.

I once knew three sisters called Keeley, Shelley and Linsey.

mathanxiety · 21/04/2010 17:56

Keely and Keeley are Irish surnames.

Only Keeleys I know are in their 30s so a bit dated.

RustyBear · 21/04/2010 20:51

Keeley, and similar names, were around a lot when DS was little (he's now 22) presumably inspired by Kylie. In fact at DS's playgroup there were girls called Hayley, Kayleigh, Kayley, Keeley, Kylie and Carly.

alfiemama · 21/04/2010 21:40

Lol your making me feel old imahappycamper, 35 to be precise, could have made a come back though, or maybe not

I must be one of those people with an irrational dislike of names beginning with "K".
Seriously don't like it and don't like
Kayleigh
Kacey
Keegan
Kelvin
kirsty
kristy
Karina or any similar sounding names either.
