I am desperate for an individual name for a girl. It has been suggested on another thread that vegetable names are the new flower names, but I don't want to surf anybody else's wave, tbh, so I am now investigating Tree names.

Is it a good idea?

I am thinking Yew at the moment.

Why don't you spare yourself the trouble of picking a specific plant or tree and just go for Greenhouse?

Tis very bizarre why tree names are so common for men & women, but flower names only for women, and fruits/veggies not at all. . .

Anyway, if it helps, I know people called:
Rowan (m&f)
Willow (m)
Ash (m)
Holly (f)
Aspen (f)
Oaks (m - poss his surname, but the name he goes by)
Larch (m)
Ivy (f)
Hazel (f)

The question is, why no Birch, Alder, Elder or Elm?

Acacia is nice. But my surname is a word for a street, so it could look a bit silly, unfortunately- too similar to Acacia Avenue.

How about Laburnum? It has pretty yellow flowers and the added advantage of being poisonous, making it highly likely to be unique...

Dara is Irish for oak tree, it's lovely.

Cauliflower? It's both veg related and floral. You could spell it Colli-Fleur.
