BikeRunSki · 31/03/2010 21:59

pixierara · 31/03/2010 22:00

Where's Mork sorry, it's a bit

tartyhighheels · 31/03/2010 22:00

mindy is the nickname for the lady garden in our house - so no!

Tortoise · 31/03/2010 22:01

I know an Amanda (Mandy) know as Mindy by some. Not keen on it as just Mindy TBH.

DinahRod · 31/03/2010 22:01

Used to really like Mork and Mindy as a kid.

As a name, no, something rather brainless bimbo about it. Sorry!

usualsuspect · 31/03/2010 22:01

Its a cats name

dizzydixies · 31/03/2010 22:08

no

Heliosba · 31/03/2010 22:12

Think Mork must be before my time, I've never heard of it.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 31/03/2010 22:17

Heliosba · 31/03/2010 22:23

Mork and Mindy for me too. [/old]

Mindy is a nickname, and is not a name to be taken all that seriously.

I know a Mindela (American), known as Mindy. Actually, to me, Mindy is a very American name, but that might also be the Mork and Mindy connection.

Man, how young does Robin Williams look in dizzy's post?!

southeastastra · 01/04/2010 08:27

go for it!

pitterpatterfeet · 01/04/2010 08:37

I know only of dogs with this name - and mork and mindy obviously

Patsy99 · 01/04/2010 08:44

Like it as a nickname, not as a proper name.

HollyGoHeavily · 01/04/2010 08:55

Ok as a nickname for a little girl but I think it is a bit weak as a first name.

notsochickchickchicken · 01/04/2010 09:23

I quite like it but then I wanted to call dd Missy.

ellesabe · 01/04/2010 20:02

Sorry it just reminds me of that woman in Friends who was engaged to Rachel's ex Barry!

BendyBob · 01/04/2010 20:06

I'm not keen.

It sounds the sort of name women who want to be all girly whirly like to call themselves, even though they're knocking on a bit - 56 going on 17.

Very little-girl-in-the-seventies. And not in a cool way.

She would, I think, find that some people didn't take her seriously simply on the basis of her name -- unfair but there you go. I would avoid.
