What's it short for Mathanxiety? Or, why is it Jewish? It's not a biblical name is it? I'm showing my age saying Nanu nanu instantly. It never occurred to me that it was a common name in America!

Thinkbabynames says it's short for Melinda, and of English origin. But I associate it with Mork and Mindy too . I don't know why it got so popular in the US or when.

But Mindy from Mork and Mindy was lovely!
