Classic but slightly naughty boys names?

tjtheminx · 20/03/2010 12:05

DS2 is expected soon.
I like classic names; short ( one or two syllables)- our surname is long - and also kind of "naughtiest boy in the class" names -- do you know what I mean?

The current front runner is Charlie
(i.e. Charles or Cathal)

Irish naughty names like Rory I like too.

Suggestions?
Thanks

Rufus is fantastic, as is Rory.

Joshua.
Ben.
Luke.

Daniel

alardi · 20/03/2010 17:58

Another vote for Daniel here (speaking as an owner of said).
But why would anyone want the naughtiest boy in the class name?

ellesabe · 20/03/2010 17:59

I wondered that too!

mathanxiety · 20/03/2010 18:01

I've heard that boys names Colm and Callum are considered to be a handful. I love Cathal as a version of Charles.

LynetteScavo · 20/03/2010 18:04

My mum used to say Williams were naughty boys, who grew into nice adults.

But why would you want a naughty boy? They tend to be expensive, as they are more likely to break a window, etc.

Rory's are always quiet and sweet, aren't they?

Rufus is a great name.

coldtits · 20/03/2010 18:07

I called my son Daniel. I am nearly 30.

i ran into a classmate (called Daniel) when my Ds2 was a baby, and when he found out I had named my son Daniel, he was aghast.

"Why've you given him the naughty name? All Daniel's are naughty at school, you know that!"

And, thinking about it, all the Daniels I was at school with were naughty

HappyBump · 20/03/2010 18:07

Denis (the menace)

coldtits · 20/03/2010 18:08

And when I posted my last post, I hadn't read the other two posts about Naughty Daniels.

coldtits · 20/03/2010 18:10

Apparently Daniel's are both naughty and bright.

Oh GOD he's going to be a drug lord

PanicMode · 20/03/2010 18:19

I have a Rufus and adore it obviously - is it a naughty name? He's certainly a very cheeky not quite 2 year old! (It's usually dubbed as a 'dog's name' on MN!!)

snorkie · 20/03/2010 18:23

Thomas must be a contender.

you get peeping tom's, doubting tom's and 'tom, dick and harry'

CuppaTeaJanice · 20/03/2010 18:25

Oh, you mean names of naughty boys!

From the thread title I thought you wanted names like Dick, Willy, Roger etc.

Greensleeves · 20/03/2010 18:25

James
Seamus

SoupDragon · 20/03/2010 18:28

"But why would you want a naughty boy?"

You do realise the name doesn't make the child, don't you?!

Aidan is Irish and naughty (and also adorable )

coolma · 20/03/2010 18:29

All the sarahs I know (including me) are very bad!

SoupDragon · 20/03/2010 18:34

Bit cruel, calling a boy Sarah ...

coolma · 20/03/2010 18:42

I realised my mistake as I pressed post...someone shoot me please..

Greensleeves · 20/03/2010 18:44

shooting a bit harsh I think

I wanted "naughty" boys too, in a way. I like spirited hilarious gobby kids. And by god, I've got what I asked for

woosam · 20/03/2010 18:48

I wouldn't say Rory was naughty. Nor is it Irish. Dylan is always the naughty but lovable boy!
