Classic but slightly naughty boys names?

tjtheminx · 20/03/2010 12:05

DS2 is expected soon.
I like classic names; short ( one or two syllables)- our surname is long - and also kind of "naughtiest boy in the class" names -- do you know what I mean?

The current front runner is Charlie
(i.e. Charles or Cathal)

Irish naughty names like Rory I like too.

Suggestions?
Thanks

Rory is too Irish . Its Irish spelling is Ruairi or more traditionally Ruairidh.

stillenacht · 20/03/2010 19:00

Sean
Louis/Lewis
Frankie
Freddie

All naughty boy names

orienteerer · 20/03/2010 19:02

Another vote for Rufus

woosam · 20/03/2010 19:04

DH is Rory and there's a big ugly framed thing on his mothers wall telling us how it's Scottish and the name was first recorded in scotland in 750 or some bollocks.

cece · 20/03/2010 19:06

Charlie - there are loads of them aorund here, so I think rather to popular for me

James - they are always a bit naughty ime.

tjtheminx · 20/03/2010 19:44

Thanks everyone...
And no I didn't mean naughty names like Dick or Willy, thanks.

Nor do I mean I want a naughty boy. ( I have one of them already)This is a names thread, not a behaviour thread.

Kind of want a name that implies some impishness ( ? sorry, can't explain myself well have very bad baby brain)

Correct mathanxiety Rory is so Irish and much more fun than Ruarai which reminds me of politicians ( Ruarai Quinn for example)

I love the name Charlie, short for Charles.

My 2y godson has this name and it suits him so much - a cheeky, adorable, sweet, funny little boy into everything and everything with a determined mind of his own.

Although it is a popular name I actually don't know any more, despite working in an infant school with 270 children.

I also like:

William/Will
Edward/Ned
Samuel/Sam
Fred/Freddie

pointydog · 20/03/2010 19:54

Mark. Fits your bill exactly.

pointydog · 20/03/2010 19:54

lolol @ rufus. I think some people have misunderstood the op

pointydog · 20/03/2010 19:56

Sean is good too.

cece · 20/03/2010 21:00

Jonny/Johnny

tjtheminx · 21/03/2010 01:58

pointydog elaborate please
I was kinda wondering about Rufus myself- nothing wrong with it mind just don't think it fits the bill here.

I'm in America by the way ( hence posting in the middle of the night)..have had some hilarious suggestions re "irish names" ( it being St "Patty's" week 'n all)

This week alone I've been told ( nay, instructed) that the following names are Irish:

  1. Errol ( as in Errol Flynn)
  2. Brookes
  3. Logan

Can't say I've ever heard of anyone Irish called any of the above.
But I digress: Sean I like. James, Johnny, Sam, Mark and Freddie all out for various reasons.

Rupert?

pointydog · 21/03/2010 09:37

elaborate on rufus you mean?

The only person I have ever met (once) called rufus was a posh bloke. It is so not a bad boy name. Unless he is the bad boy at harrow - har

MegSophandEmma · 21/03/2010 09:40

Connor

Astrophe · 21/03/2010 09:49

Elmo

Hollyoaks · 21/03/2010 09:50

I love Daniel/Danny but there's already one on dh's side who's a distant relation so its been ruled out.

In terms of other possibilities, what about
Josh
Nathan
Callum
Adam
Kieron (sp?)
Robert/Robbie
Samuel/Sammy/Sam
Freddie

Agree that Rufus is so not a naughty name! Sorry to whoever suggested that one.

Bobby and Bertie would cause havoc in a Victorian classroom with Freddie getting the blame

Momdeguerre · 21/03/2010 17:07

I am from a big Irish family, I don't suppose many of them have traditionally Irish names but the cheeky boys are called:

Thomas - aka Tommy
Dylan - most often known as Dylan The Villain

I have a Charles known as Charlie and am expecting a Wilfred to be known as Bill or Wilf.

All the boys are lively but adorable!

IngridFletcher · 21/03/2010 17:15

There is a boy called max in my DS1's year at school who keeps saying 'fuck'. They are only 6/7 so that is quite naughty.

sassysass · 21/03/2010 17:48

Charlie
Jamie
Josh
Jake
Dylan
Connor
Curtis

ChynaDoll2006 · 21/03/2010 23:10
