Just found out we are expecting no2. It is way early but we have no girls names that we both agree on.

So ladies, any ideas on girls names that would go/ sound nice with DD1 Louisa x

May / Mae ? can't think of anything else right now !!! but I think something short and not ending with A

TimothyTigerTuppennyTail · 17/03/2010 21:55

I think May will make a lot of people think 'Little Women'!

Marie seems to work well, in my head. Not that that's necessarily a good thing!

Daffodilly · 17/03/2010 22:06

I reckon a name ending in "y" sound would scan well:

Emily
Amy
Zoe

diddl · 18/03/2010 08:14

Eleanor,
Harriet,
Cecily,
India,
Imogen.

bellissima · 18/03/2010 09:02

Charlotte
Katherine (Kate)
Marianne
Caroline

liliputlady · 18/03/2010 09:09

Katherine was the first thing I thought of, then

Charlotte
Emmeline
Elizabeth
Caitlin
Marianne

Must admit, it's hard to find something as pretty as Louisa!

swanandduck · 18/03/2010 10:10

I also immediately thought 'Charlotte'. Eleanor would also go well with Louisa.

FoxtrotLima · 18/03/2010 10:53

Louisa is beautiful. Reallly like that name.

I can imagine her as the sister of

Juliet
Annabel
Beatrice
Cecily
Verity
Imogen
Marianne
Flora
Susannah
Penelope
Evelyn
Meredith

Mylittlebubble · 18/03/2010 11:35

Thanks for your responses.

fox and Lilli - Thank you we obviously think it is a very pretty name too

I like:-

Charlotte
Verity (don't think DH will agree!)
Katherine (my middle name so will have a nice meaning)

I think from those three names Charlotte woud "go" best.

Charlotte Katherine?

Pasiphae · 18/03/2010 12:29

Louisa (very pretty) and
Sophie, Constance, Clemence, Agnes, Hazel, Gretchen, Esther, Clarice, Florence?

allyfe · 18/03/2010 12:49

I like Louisa Katherine - I like the harder ending of Katherine compared to something ending with an 'a' or or 'y' personally.

FoxtrotLima · 18/03/2010 12:53

Gretchen is a nice name for an adult, but it would be hard to stare into a moses basket and say 'aw Gretchen'. dykwim? I wouldn't mind being called it myself though. Now.

Skegness · 18/03/2010 12:58

Frances?

bellissima · 18/03/2010 13:02

Louisa and Charlotte do go together very well - both very Hanoverian.

letsblowthistacostand · 18/03/2010 15:25

My DD1 is Louisa too! The problem is, when you've named your first child the best name ever how do you find a second as good?

For DD2 we considered:

Margaret
Edith
Sophie
Elizabeth
Anna
Cecilia
Charlotte

Fimbow · 18/03/2010 15:27

Carrie

Cortina · 18/03/2010 15:27

Julia
Leonora
Celia
Charlotte
Antonia
Beatrice
Emily
Anna

Aviendha · 18/03/2010 15:45

Anything from a Jane Austen novel!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 18/03/2010 15:48

Nell

greygirl · 18/03/2010 15:49

louisa Jane?
Louisa Leonie?
Louisa Anna? (good for puns!)

Louisa Claire?

Louisa is a lovely name

Pasiphae · 19/03/2010 12:43

LOL, yes I see what you mean about Gretchen, but then using a nickname might make the name "better" for a baby: Greta, Gertie?

Sophie2008 · 19/03/2010 12:57

Annie

My great grand mothers name was Annie Louisa

So Annie & Louisa sounds nice.

libbybeth · 19/03/2010 12:58

Sofia, or Sophia....Congratulations

cloelia · 19/03/2010 16:35

We have a dd1 Louisa too! For a second dd we considered;
Rosalind
Miranda
Juliet
Stephanie
Victoria
Rowan
Good luck x
